A rare white albino Beaked Worm Snake (Grypotyphlops acutus) has been spotted in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. The spotting of this reptile drew attention of wildlife researchers and adding a significant record to the region’s biodiversity  With incessant heavy rainfall recorded in the last few days across Raigad and the Konkan region, the underground burrows of many fossorial (burrowing) snakes have become waterlogged, forcing them to emerge in search of dry and safer habitats.
