The Hyderabad Toofans reached the final of the Hockey India League (HIL) 2024-25 after it beat Soorma Hockey Club 3-1 in the second semifinal at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Friday. The Toofans will take on Rarh Bengal Tigers in the final on Sunday. The Bengal Tigers beat Tamil Nadu Dragons in the evening’s first semifinal in the penalty shootout. In a match fitting of a semifinal, the Hyderabad Toofans opened the scoring through Amandeep Lakra in the 25th minute before Jacob Anderson (35′) and Nilakanta Sharma (43′) added to their tally while Jeremy Hayward (60’) scored a consolation goal off the final play of the match.
