A 20-year-old NEET aspirant from Indore, who allegedly went missing after appearing for the re-examination on Sunday, was found dead in the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district, police said. According to ANI, the deceased has been identified as Nikki Yadav, a resident of British Park Phase 2 in Indore. Days after she went missing, her body was recovered from the Narmada River near Karhi village in Khargone district on Monday. The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday said that it is sending reminder SMS messages, emails, and WhatsApp notifications to candidates, urging them to download their admit cards for the NEET-UG 2026 re-test  scheduled for June 21. The agency informed that legitimate SMS messages would be sent from the official sender ID “NICPEP,” and emails would originate from “[email protected].” It also reiterated that only the official website for this process is http://neet.nta.nic.in. Acting on an official directive from the director general of the National Testing Agency (NTA), ADM Krishna Kumar Mishra has issued a strict prohibitory order, imposing Section 163 of the BNSS within a 200-metre radius of all 16 designated examination centres across Dehradun. The order will come into effect on the examination day and will remain strictly enforced until the conclusion of the test on Sunday (June 21, 2026). Under these emergency provisions, the assembly of five or more people, excluding the exam candidates, is completely banned near the centres. A 17-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly committed suicide in Lucknow, police said on Friday.  The deceased identified as Suhani Yadav took the extreme step on Tuesday, ahead of the NEET re-exam scheduled for June 21. The girl was found hanging from a fan in her house, Station House Officer of Bazar Khala police station Brijesh Singh said, adding no suicide note was recovered. The family members of the deceased told police that she had performed well in the May 3 NEET-UG examination, which was cancelled, and she was hopeful of clearing it. However, after cancellation of the examination, she had slipped into a depression. “She was in a state of depression for two to four days, after which she again started preparing for the examination. Family members also said that she was under pressure due to the examination,” Singh said.
