The Madras High Court on Wednesday (August 19, 2026) ordered notice to film producer Shruthi Nallappa of Miracle Movies on a civil suit filed by actor Ravi Mohan, accusing her of defaming him by writing e-mails to Netflix, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, and others over a dispute related to the movie Bro Club. Justice K. Govindarajan Thilakavadi ordered issuance of court notice as well as private notice, returnable by August 25, 2026, seeking the producer’s response to the actor’s plea to restrain her from publishing, communicating, or disseminating any statement defamatory of him. Senior counsel R. Parthasarathy, representing the plaintiff, told the court that Miracle Movies was supposed to produce the multi-starrer movie Bro Code, subsequently renamed Bro Club, and that Mr. Mohan had been engaged to act in the lead role in it alongside S.J. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has revoked its “non-cooperative directive” against Ranveer Singh a week after issuing it after the actor walked out of Farhan Akhtar’s directorial Don 3 this past December. Searches carried out in six Kashmir districts in terror related case

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of police on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) carried out searches in several districts of the valley in a case related to terror activities, officials said. The officials said based on recent intelligence inputs, technical analysis and sustained investigation, they had identified eight locations in six districts where searches were conducted in the early hours of Wednesday. The searches were conducted at two places each in Srinagar and Bandipora districts; and one each in Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Baramulla districts. The case registered in 2015 pertains to Pakistan-sponsored terrorist outfits, their sleeper-cell networks and activities related to recruitment, radicalisation and facilitating terrorism in J-K. The officials said the suspects are alleged to be in contact with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers through encrypted communication platforms and are suspected to be involved in dissemination of extremist propaganda and radicalisation activities. The legislation to this effect can be introduced in the next session of Parliament itself. Two arrested, six booked for circulating obscene videos related to Kharat case

Police in Maharashtra`s Ahilyanagar district have arrested two persons, while six others have been booked in Nashik for allegedly circulating obscene videos of women victims linked to self-styled godman Ashok Kharat on social media, reported the PTI. Kharat was arrested on March 18 for allegedly raping a woman repeatedly over the past three years. During the investigation, authorities uncovered several videos showing the exploitation of women. Officials said that some of these clips were later found circulating on platforms such as WhatsApp, prompting immediate action by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), as per the PTI. According to police, a resident of Kopargaon allegedly shared one such video on a WhatsApp group, which was then forwarded to others. Based on this, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology (IT) Act.
