A day after cyclone Fengal wreaked havoc in the city and suburbs, the Highways department has taken up work to repair potholes and bad patches on its roads. Water logging and continuous running of vehicles at these locations has caused damage to the riding surface.   “As soon as the weather warning was issued, we had arranged for materials including cold mix and wet mix macadam, which is a mix of blue metal and quarry fine material. The latter is used in case of larger patches requiring repairs. Gangs of workmen cordoned off these points and repaired the roads. These are only temporary fixes to ensure the safety of motorists on these roads. BMW dealer told to pay Rs 5.42 lakh charged for repairing car to owner | Chandigarh News

The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Chandigarh has directed a dealer of BMW India in Chandigarh to pay Rs 5.42 lakh charged for repairs/replacement of defective parts of a BMW car. The State Commission modified the order of the District Commission, and dismissed the appeal of BMW India and its dealership Krishna Automobiles. In his complaint at the District Commission, Pawan Kumar Goel of Panchkula stated that he purchased a BMW 730 LD car from the authorised dealer (Krishna Automobiles). “I have been using the vehicle for eight years, covering nearly 60,000 kilometres. But for the past four years, I have been facing significant maintenance issues,” Goel said. As per Goel’s complaint, on July 6, 2016, Krishna Automobiles sent him an extended warranty package via email, described as the BSI Plus and Extended Warranty Package. Convinced by the offer, Goel paid Rs 3,74,379 for the warranty extension. On May 16, 2020, the complainant reported a rear suspension issue. ₹100 crore for repairing 521 Adi Dravidar, 15 tribal hostels

The Tamil Nadu government would allocate ₹100 crore towards maintenance and repair work in 521 Adi Dravidar hostels and 15 tribal hostels across the State, Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu said in the Assembly. The repair work would commence before the upcoming academic year, Mr. Thennarasu said. He recalled that an announcement was made by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in this regard during a meeting of Collectors held last year, and that VCK legislator M. Sinthanai Selvan had requested that repairs be undertaken. Source link
