The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Petitions Committee on Tuesday (23-06-2026) reviewed a series of long-pending public grievances in the Gajuwaka constituency and directed officials concerned to initiate time-bound measures for their resolution. Addressing a press conference after a review meeting at the Collectorate, Petitions Committee Chairman K. Raghurama Krishnam Raju said 14 petitions submitted by Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao were examined in detail with officials from various departments. The committee, comprising members Ganta Srinivasa Rao, P. Vishnu Kumar Raju and Konathala Ramakrishna, discussed possible solutions and prepared an action plan outlining the responsibilities of departments and the timeframe required for implementation. A major issue discussed at the meeting was the inclusion of several residential localities in the prohibited lands list under Section 22-A of the Registration Act. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said residents of Vadlapudi, Chinagantyada, Kurmannapalem, Mindi, Peddagantyada and Jaggarajupeta had been facing difficulties in property registration and access to housing finance owing to the restrictions. The government plans to take steps to persuade the Supreme Court and the Kerala High Court to vacate stay orders concerning the 1964 title deed distribution rule and the Cardamom Hills Reserve (CHR) issue, as per the Budget provisions. It aims at resolving these court cases to protect farmers’ interests and expedite title deed distribution. Furthermore, the Budget noted that the government will legally review the order prohibiting construction activities on land with Cardamom title deeds. The proposal also stated that the government will unconditionally regularise existing constructions on title deed lands. The district has previously witnessed numerous protests over these land disputes. Consequently, farmers’ groups have welcomed the Budget proposals aimed at finding a permanent solution. National Sports Tribunal to ensure speedy resolution of sports disputes

The Union Government has notified the National Sports Governance (National Sports Board) Rules, 2026 and the National Sports Governance (National Sports Tribunal) Rules, 2026 under the provisions of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025. The National Sports Governance (National Sports Board) Rules, 2026 provide for the composition of the Board, term of office of the Chairperson and Members, salary, allowances and other conditions of service, as well as the powers and functions of the Board. Under the Rules, the National Sports Board shall consist of a Chairperson and two Members to be appointed by the Central Government from a panel of names recommended by the Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted under the National Sports Board (Search-cum-Selection Committee) Rules, 2026.
