Producer of Prithviraj’s Vilayath Buddha accuses YouTube channel of resorting to ‘cyberterrorism’ in review | Malayalam News

Despite arriving amid massive hype, the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Vilayath Buddha has fallen short of expectations and is currently struggling at the box office. Aside from the average-to-negative reviews it garnered following its release on Friday, November 21, a lack of promotion may have also hampered the movie’s prospects. In fact, the actioner is currently trailing behind Eko, a highly unconventional mystery drama sans a star-studded cast. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO Meanwhile, rubbing salt into the movie’s wound, Vilayath Buddha has also become the target of an online smear campaign. The film’s producer has now stepped forward and filed an official complaint against a YouTube channel that, he alleged, was spreading religious and political hate under the guise of a film review. Maintaining that the channel posted a video seemingly analysing the Prithviraj film shortly after its release, Sandip Senan, who bankrolled the movie under the banner of his Urvasi Theatres, claimed that it misrepresented the film’s content and pushed narratives aimed at provoking communal tensions, Mathrubhumi reported. PM Modi rattled, resorting to `cliched Hindu-Muslim script`?: Congress

The Congress on Monday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his `Muslim League imprint` remarks on the party`s manifesto, saying he is scared over the prospect of the BJP struggling to cross the 180-seat mark in the Lok Sabha polls and has again resorted to the “same cliched Hindu-Muslim script”. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that with the BJP`s electoral situation worsening day by day, the RSS has started remembering its old friend — Muslim League. The opposition party`s reaction came a day after Prime Minister Modi launched an attack on the Congress, charging that its poll manifesto bore the imprint of the Muslim League and utterances of its leaders showed hostility towards national integrity and Sanatan Dharma. In a post on X, Kharge said, “The political and ideological ancestors of Modi and Shah supported the British and the Muslim League against the Indians in the freedom movement. Even today, they are invoking the Muslim League against the `Congress Nyay Patra` which was prepared with the contributions of common Indians.” The ancestors of …

GHMC’s house tax collection is still short of ₹500 crore – ₹600 crore. With only a week left for the financial year-end, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is resorting to desperate measures to recover property tax arrears from long-time defaulters. Circle-level officials of the Revenue wing have started to seize the properties with regard to which the dues of more than one year are pending, causing anxiety among the residents less than two months ahead of parliamentary elections. While officials are mum about the procedure adopted, it has come to light that commercial properties are being targeted in the drive, after issue of notices and warrants. About 140 properties have been seized across the 30 circles so far, with Jubilee Hills and Yousufguda alone accounting for over 60 seized properties. Already, a one time settlement scheme is on offer for the defaulters, for whom 90% interest waiver will be available if they settle the dues along with 10% interest. Sources informed that the scheme has not evoked much interest, forcing the officials to resort …

The Congress on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict striking down the electoral bonds scheme, and said that it will reinforce the power of votes over notes. The opposition party also said that it hopes that the Modi Government will stop resorting to such “mischievous ideas” in the future and listen to the Supreme Court so that democracy, transparency and level-playing field persist. The Supreme Court in a landmark judgement delivered a big blow to the government and annulled the electoral bonds scheme for political funding, saying it violates the Constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression as well as the right to information. In a post on X, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge welcomed the Supreme Court decision and hoped the government will stop resorting to “such mischievous ideas” in the future. He said the Congress had called the scheme “opaque and undemocratic” when it was launched. Subsequently, in the 2019 manifesto, the Congress promised to scrap the Modi government`s “dubious scheme”. “We welcome the decision of the Supreme Court today, which has struck …
