India vs South Africa, 3rd ODI: Finally, India win toss, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav restrict South Africa to 270 | Cricket News

The fist pump from stand-in captain KL Rahul when the coin rolled in favour of India after 21 consecutive ODIs, showed how desperate they were for some toss luck. With dew leaving a huge imprint in the outcome of the previous two fixtures, where India had to bowl under lights, they had the opportunity to field first when conditions were best suited to bowl. And despite being a bowler short — Washington Sundar making way for Tilak Varma — Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav wrestled back the early initiative gained by South Africa to dismiss them for 270 in 47.5 overs. For a major part of their innings, South Africa appeared to take the same road India had taken in the first two ODIs at Ranchi and Raipur. It brought out wonderful match-ups and the gamble that the teams were willing to take in the decider. With Tony de Zorzi and Nander Burger ruled out, South Africa brought Ryan Rickelton at the top to combine with Quinton de Kock. It was the third different opening …

Eko: Dinjith Ayyathan, Bahul Ramesh pull off a KG George; use ecofeminism to show how men restrict women under the guise of protection | Malayalam News

One of the biggest issues plaguing our movies, particularly actioners and thrillers, is that directors are more focused on proving they are smarter and more creative than the audience rather than on making solid, well-rooted films. In the case of actioners, filmmakers are busy trying to come up with fresh stunt moves or more elaborate torture techniques that are gorier than previous similar outings — with the most recent example being the upcoming Dhurandhar and director Aditya Dhar’s desperate attempt to imply in the trailer that the movie will be more violent than Animal (2023), Kill (2023), or Marco (2024) — as if their aim is solely to earn the title of “India’s most violent film ever.” Directors seem to believe that this is the formula for enticing the audience and that the masses will accept these films if they simply make them more violent. In the case of thrillers, writers and directors often seem desperately trying to pack their movies with twists that they are (at least initially) sure the audience won’t figure out …

Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah’s jugalbandi restrict South Africa on opening day in Guwahati Test | Cricket News

Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah’s jugalbandi restrict South Africa on opening day in Guwahati Test | Cricket News

Between three deliveries on either side of Saturday morning’s chai-break and the fleeting five-over period that followed, the expectant Guwahati crowd witnessed a slice of what Test cricket’s creative peaks looked like, conjured up by two contrasting bowling superstars. When Jasprit Bumrah customarily bore the brunt of the bowling load, Kuldeep Yadav (3/48) did the easier things to reel in wickets on India’s grinding Guwahati initiation. The masterful duo comfortably led the early resurgence, leaving South Africa six down for 247 before stumps. While he can turn up trumps practically any time – as he did in a short four-ball notice before the first break – Bumrah’s attacking postures had begun to recede when Kuldeep grew into his and nabbed wickets with a simpler but enticing plan against the South African top order. But it was a largely even morning that put the storylines in place for India’s progressive bowling success. Patel’s four-for helps SRH restrict CSK to 154 all out

Chennai, Seamer Harshal Patel snared four wickets as Sunrisers Hyderabad bowled out five-time champions Chennai Super Kings for a modest 154 all out in an IPL match here on Friday. Patel’s four-for helps SRH restrict CSK to 154 all out In what is a probable must-win match for both sides, SRH bowlers executed their plans to perfection to limit CSK in their own den. Harshal , who cleverly used change of pace, was complemented well by skipper Pat Cummins , ambidextrous spinner Kamindu Mendis , veterans Mohammed Shami and Jaydev Unadkat . Dewald Brevis was the top scorer while Deepak Hooda played some lofty shots towards the end to take CSK plus 150-run mark. Sent into bat, CSK witnessed a horrendous start as they lost Shaik Rasheed of the first ball off Shami, caught by Abhishek Sharma at first slip. It was a perfect Test match delivery, pitched on length outside off, shaping away with the batter just poking at it. Young Ayush Mhatre was, however, going great guns, picking up boundaries at will with …
