Jaipur, Rajasthan’s Anti-Corruption Bureau has intensified its search for retired IAS officer Subodh Agarwal and other accused involved in alleged irregularities amounting to ₹900 crore in the tender process for the Jal Jeevan Mission , officials said on Wednesday. The official further informed that search teams have conducted raids at over 100 locations across nearly 21 cities, including Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Barmer, Kota, Nagaur, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Noida, Meerut, Prayagraj, Bulandshahr and Mumbai. The premises searched include New Moti Bagh and Defence Colony in New Delhi, Sector-39 in Faridabad, residential locations in Noida, a farmhouse in Sohna, and properties in Malabar Hill and Juhu in Mumbai. Five men have been arrested in two different operations for alleged theft worth over Rs 2 crore in cash and jewellery at a retired DRDO scientist’s home in Rohini’s Prashant Vihar, police said Monday. While a sixth accused is on the run, around Rs 1.22 crore in cash and other items were recovered from those arrested. The local police arrested the key conspirator Gaurav Kawatra (36) and Jasmeen Singh aka Gifty (42) Sunday, a day after the alleged theft took place around 12:50 pm. Two teams of the Crime Branch nabbed three others — Kamal aka Amandeep (22), Ashish aka Ashu (22) and Pawan Singh (22) — in two separate operations. Efforts are on to arrest Krishan, the sixth accused, police said. Image Source : FILE PHOTO Supreme Court of India In the latest development, former Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust, which manages the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, and Rajya Sabha MP YV Subba Reddy on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding an investigation into the adulteration in Tirupati ghee and prasadam laddus. Reddy, in his petition, has demanded to form an independent investigation committee under a retired judge of the Supreme Court. The plea was filed a day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations of ghee adulteration at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Naidu has accused the previous YSRCP government of altering procurement procedures for ghee, leading to irregularities.
