Divya TS finishes fourth in women’s 25m pistol

India’s Divya TS finished fourth in women’s 25m pistol at the 2026 ISSF World Cup Stage I in Granada, Spain on Thursday. Divya scored 28 out of 40 shots in eight series before she was eliminated from the competition. Rhythm Sangwan, the other Indian to qualify for the women’s 25m pistol final, finished seventh with 13 hits out of 25. Earlier in the day Sangwan had finished fifth in the qualification round with a score of 586, while Divya shot 585 to finish eighth. Simranpreet Brar, meanwhile, had a forgettable outing, managing only 575 to finish 30th. Abhidnya Patil, who was shooting for Ranking Points Only (RPO), scored 585. Gajanan Khandagale finishes 5th Elsewhere, debutant Gajanan Khandagale was the only Indian shooter to advance to the men’s 10m air rifle final. He finished fifth with a score of 187.5. Eyeing glory in next World Championship, double Olympic medallist shooter Manu Bhaker said Jaspal Rana will continue to be her “coach” despite the Dronacharya awardee being roped in as the High Performance trainer for pistol discipline by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). Rhythm Sangwan pips Manu Bhaker to win 25m pistol National Trials

Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker was relegated to the second spot in the women’s 25m pistol selection trial 2 round on day five of the Rifle/Pistol National Selection Trials (Group A) on Wednesday at the at Dr Karni Singh Shooting range (DKSSR) in New Delhi. Returning to competitive shooting after the Paris Olympics, Bhaker was pipped by Rhythm Sangwan who emerged winner in the event via a shoot off from the final group which incidentally featured four other Olympians. In the finals, both Sangwan and Bhaker shot a score of 37, which warranted a shoot off, where the former scored 4/5 while the double Olympic medallist shot 3/5. NRAI names 23-member shooting squad for ISSF World Cup final

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) on Thursday announced a 23-member Indian squad for the season-ending ISSF World Cup final that will be held across rifle, pistol, and shotgun categories from October 13 to 18 at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range. Double Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker has opted out of the tournament for a three-month break. Rhythm Sangwan will be the only Indian shooter to feature in two events. The squad features nine members from the Paris Olympics team which returned with three bronze medals. A total of 11 Indian Olympians will gun for the title of the best shooter of the year along with the world’s best in 12 individual Olympic events. “We have a strong squad of proven performers for the ISSF year-ender and look forward to a strong performance. Manu Bhaker wins bronze in 10m air pistol

Olympian and ace pistol shooter Manu Bhaker struck bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 10M in Granada, Spain on Friday. This was her fifth individual career World Cup stage medal. Manu qualified for the eight-woman final with a score of 576, which gave her fourth spot in the 54-strong field. Compatriot Rhythm Sangwan shot 580 to top the field. In the final, Manu shot 215.1 to settle for bronze as Poland’s Claudia Bres won gold with a score of 236.2. Rhythm finished eighth in the final even as Mexican Andrea Ibarra won silver. Anuradha Devi’s 565 gave her the 32nd spot overall. Sarabjot Singh was the best Indian in the men’s 10m air pistol with a qualification round score of 581 giving him ninth position officially. Rhythm’s third place finish secured a quota place for the Paris Olympics, the country’s record 16th. The previous biggest contingent from India was 15 at the Tokyo Olympics.
