A .22 calibre rifle firing simulator was inaugurated at the Aditya Institute of Technology and Management (AITAM) near Tekkali on Friday by Group Commander, NCC Visakhapatnam Group, Commodore Sumanth Roy. Interacting with district-level NCC cadets later, Commodore Roy said the NCC instilled discipline, leadership and a spirit of national service among youth, besides offering avenues in employment, higher education and career advancement. He explained the quota and weightage extended to holders of ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates in the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, State police departments and various government recruitments, and responded to cadets’ queries on defence careers, selection procedures and training.
