Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar claimed the men’s singles title at the Odisha Masters, a BWF Tour Super 100 event, in Cuttack on Sunday. He defeated World No. 68, Tharun Mannepalli in straight games (21-18, 21-16) in 43 minutes. Rithvik, ranked World No. 78, had also won the Telangana International Challenge earlier this year. In the women’s singles final, 16-year-old Tanvi Sharma, however, lost to China’s Cai Yan Yan. Tanvi lost the match 14-21, 16-21 in 35 minutes. Cai had earlier won the Guwahati Masters and had beaten Anmol Kharb, another Indian player, in the semifinals. In the doubles events, China claimed two titles.
