Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan’s Instagram Accounts Blocked In India Amid Pahalgam Attack Outrage

The Instagram accounts of Pakistan cricket team stars were blocked in India following the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam. Pakistan cricketers like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi had their accounts blocked in India alongside popular actors and actresses like Hania Aamir and Ali Fazal. Even the Instagram account of Olympic gold medalist javellin thrower Arshad Nadeem was blocked on Thursday. The decision to block these social media accounts was taken following the terrorist strike in Pahalgam that led to multiple deaths – marking one of the deadliest strikes in the valley in recent past. Users attempting to access Nadeem’s Instagram page from India are met with the message: “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.” Twenty-six people, mostly tourists, were killed and several injured when terrorists opened fire at a meadow near the popular tourist town of Pahalgam in south Kashmir on April 22. The government has since cracked down on Pakistani social media accounts that have large following in India. Earlier …

“Hopefully Our Nation…”: Mohammad Rizwan’s Response After Pakistan Suffer 0-3 Battering vs New Zealand

File image of Mohammad Rizwan© AFP Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan said the team needs to improve. “Disappointing series for us. (Positives) Babar was in good touch with two fifties. Naseem Shah’s batting as well. In the bowling, Sufiyan Muqeem was the guy who bowled really well. I give credit to New Zealand in all departments. They’ve been playing well. We know that these are difficult conditions for us here, but they played in Pakistan really well. They played against us in Pakistan. There are professionals in all departments. We need to improve, that’s it.” Mohammad Rizwan said at the post-match presentation. “In New Zealand, it’s very important to play well against the new ball. We’ll learn from here and fix it. If you lose, you can’t say like that (when asked if today was their best performance of the tour). Individually, we are good. New Zealand won all the key moments. After the Champions Trophy and this series, we’ll leave the past. PSL is a big tournament for us in Pakistan, hopefully our …

PCB Told To Revoke Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan’s Central Contracts: “They Get Rs 60 Lakh”

Former Pakistan pacer Sikandar Bakht has lashed out at captain Mohammad Rizwan and other top cricketers for refusing to playing the National T20 Championship. This comes after Rizwan opted to play club cricket rather than participate in the National T20 Cup. Bakht feels the players are employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and they should participate in every competition organised by the board. The cricketer-turned-commentator added that the players are not being paid Rs 60 lakh per month to play club cricket. “They are employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board. They get 60 lakh per month, so they must play in the tournaments the PCB is organising. The buck stops with PCB. They have to make sure that players are available,” Bakht said during a discussion on Geo News. Bakht also suggested PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi to strip them off central contracts. “This shouldn’t happen. Mohsin Naqvi needs to be strict. He comes off as a polite person, but he needs to change his ways. You have to ask what is happening. …

Pakistan Captain Mohammad Rizwan’s Bizarre Explanation Behind Champions Trophy Exit Stuns All

Pakistan Captain Mohammad Rizwan’s Bizarre Explanation Behind Champions Trophy Exit Stuns All

Pakistan’s winless campaign in the Champions Trophy continued with their match against Bangladesh being called off without a ball being bowled due to incessant rain here on Thursday. The match was effectively a dead-rubber, with both teams already out of contention after failing to secure a win in their two previous matches. Pakistan, hosting an ICC tournament for the first time in 29 years, had hoped for a strong finish but ended their disastrous campaign without a victory. Persistent downpour left the ground soaked, with covers in place and puddles forming around the field. With weather not improving, match officials called off the game nearly two hours after the scheduled start time. The gloomy weather prevented even the toss from taking place. As a result, the two teams shared one point each, though both Pakistan and Bangladesh finished the tournament winless. This is the second match in Rawalpindi to be called off without a ball being bowled, following the washout between South Africa and Australia earlier this week. The rain-induced abandonment left the home fans frustrated, as they hoped for play at …

“Let’s Talk About Virat Kohli”: Mohammad Rizwan’s Press Conference Act For India Star Stumps All

It isn’t easy to sit in front of media and not stop lauding a player of the opponent team. But for Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan, it was important to doff his hat to Virat Kohli who played a masterful knock to all but eliminate the ICC Champions Trophy hosts. Kohli came into the showdown against Pakistan on the back of an embarrassing run that saw even his place in the team being questioned repeatedly. However, Kohli surprised everyone with his execution as he hit Pakistan bowlers all across the park.  Virat roared back to form with an unbeaten 100 off 111 balls, laced with seven fours, a delight for every cricket lover. He added a couple of feathers to his hat, including the fastest to 14,000 ODI run milestone. Rizwan, who attended the press conference after Pakistan’s defeat, wasn’t just fascinated with Virat’s effortless chase masterclass; but also the fitness level the India star has managed to maintain despite being 36 years old. As questions were fired at Rizwan by the media personnel, …

“Our Kids Don’t Know…”: Mohammad Rizwan’s Blunt Reply To ‘Unpredictable’ Question

“Our Kids Don’t Know…”: Mohammad Rizwan’s Blunt Reply To ‘Unpredictable’ Question

Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan has blamed the country’s culture behind the team’s “unpredictable” cricketing record. Rizwan led Pakistan’s highest successful chase in ODIs, with the hosts achieving 353 in 49 overs to enter the final of the tri-nation series on Wednesday. Rizwan played a captain’s knock to remain not out on 122, while vice-captain Salman Ali Agha slammed 134 for his maiden century. Rizwan and his depute added 260 runs, the second biggest ODI stand for the 4th wicket as Pakistan recovered from 91/3 to get over the line comfortably in the end. On being asked to explain the reason behind Pakistan cricket team’s unpredictable nature, Rizwan blamed the country’s culture behind the same. “The answer to this is very long because the unpredictability factor is maily due to our culture. It’s always been the case. Our kids don’t know what to do in life. So if you look at our cricket, whether it’s Australia, Zimbabwe or even today, there has always been this unpredictability. It’s a rarity that we win games one-sided. …
