Uttarakhand: Two held for roaming around at Har Ki Pauri in `sheikh` attire

Police have detained two men after a video purportedly showing them, wearing `sheikh` attire (kandura), roaming around at Har Ki Pauri and bathing at Ganga ghat surfaced online, officials said on Tuesday. Police said that the video of the men roaming around Malviya Ghat and its surroundings at Har Ki Pauri caused a stir amidst demands to ban the entry of non-hindus to all Ganga ghats located in the Haridwar Kumbh Mela area. When the priests in the area stopped and questioned them, the men identified themselves as Habibullah and Habibi, residents of Dubai. However, a few hours after the incident, the police detained them. During questioning by the police, they revealed their names as Naveen Kumar (22) and Prince (22), residents of Sidcul in Haridwar. They told the police that they were making a video for their YouTube channel. Naveen and Prince later apologised for hurting religious sentiments and were instructed not to make such videos again. Overseas travellers on Airtel postpaid connections can enjoy in-flight benefits with one of the newly released plans as well. Both new offerings are said to extend support for unlimited data. The introduction of these new plans is timely as they come right before the beginning of the Hajj pilgrimage this year. These plans will extend support for unlimited inbound calls to both prepaid and postpaid subscribers in India. The new roaming plans are available in validity options of 20 days and 40 days. Airtel has launched a new international roaming (IR) recharge plan to its portfolio. The new roaming plan is priced at Rs. 4,000 ,and it provides 5GB data access in 189 countries. The latest plan, which is designed to aid people who travel to multiple destinations frequently, can be used both in India and overseas. In India, it offers benefits like 1.5GB of data per day, 100 voice minutes and in-flight connectivity. Airtel users will be able to manage the plan via the Thanks app. It comes with an auto-renewal feature for frequent travellers. On Friday, Airtel announced that the new Rs. 4,000 IR plan has a validity of one year. It offers 5GB of data and 100 voice calling minutes for international use. While in India, customers will be able to use the same plan to access 1.5GB of data per day along with unlimited call benefits. Vodafone Idea (Vi) Introduces Baggage Protection in All Postpaid International Roaming Packs

Vodafone Idea (Vi) introduced a new baggage protection service with its postpaid international roaming plans on Monday. The new service was launched in India in partnership with Blue Ribbon Bags, a US-based lost baggage concierge service. Available with all postpaid international roaming plans with an add-on, the service will compensate users if their baggage is delayed or lost while travelling via flights. The telecom operator said that the service will provide its users with an additional safety net to improve their travel experience. A man found wandering in Chatrinaka with a sword in a cardboard box was nabbed by the South Zone Task Force team and Chatrinaka police of Hyderabad. The man, identified as G. Ajay Kumar, 30, a resident of Chatrinaka, and a cashier by profession, purchased the sword online three months ago for ₹1,600. “He reportedly used the sword for cutting cakes at birthday celebrations, and posted photos of himself with the weapon on his Facebook account,” said the police. The sword and the cell phone used to upload the photos online were seized at the time of arrest on Monday.
