It’s not only existing voters not covered in previous Special Intensive Revision (SIR) who have to submit their parents’ SIR details to remain on the electoral rolls, but also the new applicants seeking inclusion in the voter list, according to EC officials. 2 min readImphalJul 6, 2026 05:20 AM IST The Manipur draft voters’ list, published on Sunday, contained 19.34 lakh electors of the state’s 20.93 lakh or 92.42% across 60 Assembly constituencies, under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise conducted between May 30 and June 28, said Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Arun Kumar Sinha. A total of 1.58 lakh electors (7.58%) did not submit their enumeration forms during the SIR process, the CEO said. Of the 19.34 lakh electors, 9.40 lakh are male, 9.93 lakh female and 293 third-gender, according to the draft rolls. 20,442 electors are in the 18-19 age group. Sinha assured that no elector’s name would be deleted from the draft rolls without due process. “Nobody can remove anybody from the draft electoral roll unless he has been given an opportunity of hearing. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a one-time additional payment of ₹6,000 each for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and their supervisors engaged in the ongoing third phase of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, a move aimed at recognising their contribution in the process, EC officials said.The incentive was first introduced for Bihar, the pilot state for the extensive exercise. This will motivate them to perform their duties to the best of their ability,” a senior ECI official said. In August 2025, the Commission had doubled BLO remuneration from ₹6,000 to ₹12,000 per year, while salaries of BLO supervisors were raised from ₹12,000 to ₹18,000. This was the first revision since 2015.
