The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee conducted the JEE Advanced examination this year for admission to renowned private and government institutes across the country, including 138 government funded institutes. This includes 23 IITs, IISc Bengaluru, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 56 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). The JoSAA 2026 counseling process is currently underway with qualifying students preparing their preference lists and scouting for top engineering institutions across the country. Relaxing the admission criteria for admission to the IITs, IIT Roorkee in its latest update said that students who do not currently meet the Class 12 eligibility criterion of 75 per cent marks can also apply for admission to the institution of their choice. A 16-year-old cybersecurity researcher has flagged a major data security issue on the JEE Advanced 2026 results website, prompting a swift response from the organising institute, IIT Roorkee. All the eligible students can now register and pay the application fees until 11:59 pm on May 5, 2026 (Tuesday). The Institute advised students eligible for JEE Advanced 2026 to complete their registration, including payment of fees, at the earliest. The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), through its Electronics & ICT Academy (E&ICT Academy), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ed-tech company Masai to launch a set of online certification programmes for professionals in emerging AI-driven and digital technology domains. Under this collaboration, the programmes will be designed and delivered through the E&ICT Academy, in areas such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS-AI), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML), Software Engineering with AI, and Prompt Engineering.
