‘He’s sort of got a bit of a licence to go out and just play’: Shane Bond on RR’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi | Ipl News

Rajasthan Royals pace bowling coach Shane Bond said that the franchise has given 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi the license to express himself in the Indian Premier League. Even though the youngster was dragged back to reality after he was out for a 2-ball duck against the Mumbai Indians, Bond said that RR aren’t panicking over it. “He’s sort of got a bit of a licence to go out and just play, which he’s done an amazing job so far, really, for a 14-year-old. I think the coaching staff haven’t tried to complicate things too much with Vaibhav,” Bond said during the pre-match media interaction ahead of their clash against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. “He missed out in the last game, but for us, you don’t really want to panic with someone so young. I know (assistant coach) Vikram (Rathour) talks about his game plans and the type of bowlers that he’s going to come up against, and he’ll do that again for this match. But outside of that, he’s a pretty young kid, so I’m …

The way he batted was just phenomenal: Shikhar Dhawan lavishes praise on RR’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi | Ipl News

The cricketing world at large has been buzzing over 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi since the last couple of days after the youngster smashed a 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans, making him the youngest to achieve that feat. Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan also lauded the youngster over his blistering start to his IPL journey, saying the Rajasthan Royals player will inspire future cricketers. “It’s a great performance indeed, the way he batted was just phenomenal. The big thing is not that he is just 14, the greater thing in that is his self-confidence at such a tender age. The way he dominated the bowlers that night who have a name in international cricket is a great achievement indeed…the country should be proud and it will inspire other youngsters in the country” Dhawan said on the sidelines of the Intercontinental Legends Championship (ILC) launch. “It is great to see these players—someone is 14, another is 17—playing in the Indian Premier League. To see these boys achieve success at such a young age is great to see,” …

Vaibhav Suryavanshi overshadows top international batters with 35-ball ton to revive RR’s playoff chances | Ipl News

SYNOPSIS: It was a night that belonged to 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose swashbuckling 38-ball 101 overshadowed the batting displays of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill to fire Rajasthan Royals to a dominant win. It was an evening where India’s batting talent came to the forefront across both the innings. If Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan appeared to be two young blokes who want to carry forward India’s proud batting legacy that is tied to textbook shots in the classical mould, in the run chase, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed what modern day T20 is all about with a century that came of 35 deliveries. Watching it from the other end was Yashasvi Jaiswal, another special talent who is already a household name, who made an unbeaten 70 as Rajasthan Royals chased down the 210-run target that Gujarat Titans set for them with 25 balls to spare and 8 wickets in hand. Story continues below this ad Power and muscle Vaibhav and Jaiswal love hitting the cricket ball. There is something about the loud thud that …

He acknowledged RR’s unexpected batting lineup choice in the super over and expressed satisfaction with his team’s ability to chase down the target despite a no-ball. “(On the final over) Just backed my execution, running in with a clear plan. Sometimes it comes off; a bit of luck goes a long way. It was a fantastic game, happy to get on the right side. I’ve played long enough for everyone to know what I’d do, but if I execute, then I know I’ll get by. A bit of luck goes a long way. (On RR’s choice of batters for the Super Over) It was a bit of a surprise to …

‘Letting Go Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal…’: Ex-India Star Slams RR’s Auction Strategy

Rajasthan Royals are having a terrible time in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). So far, the Sanju Samson-led side has lost three matches out of five as the players crave for consistency. In their recent match against Gujarat Titans, RR lost by 58 runs after they failed to chase down the target of 218. Speaking about the team’s sudden downfall, former India batter Robin Uthappa slammed RR and stated the team management failed to make a strong squad at the mega auctions. Ahead of the mega auctions, RR released the likes of Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, among others. Uthappa stated that letting go of Buttler proved to be expensive for the 2008 champions. “And I think that’s where RR got it wrong in the in the auctions didn’t they. I think the fact that they let the likes of Jos Butler go, Ashwin go, Yuzi Chahal go, they just left too many holes. Like today, if Shimron Hetmyer gets injured, they don’t have a replacement for him, …

“I Lost My Wicket…”: Sanju Samson Blames Himself After RR’s 58-Run Thrashing By GT In IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson rued that his side gave away 15-20 runs extra while bowling against Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan Royals failed to chase a 218-run target set by Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. “We planned something but they executed something else. We will have to look at that tomorrow,” said Samson who made 41 from 28 balls. “When we needed momentum we lost wickets. With Hettie (Shimron Hetmyer), sixes and four kept coming. But I lost my wicket and that’s where we lost the game. The way Jofra started was good, he picked up Shubman’s wicket. Then we went off plan.”  Asked about him choosing to bowl after winning the toss earlier in the day, he said, “When you lose games, we also feel should we have chased. Should we have done something else. But we want to be a team that wins games while chasing, not just win batting first.” A delighted Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill credited his team’s strong start to the season …

Riyan Parag Fined INR 12 Lakh for RR’s Slow Over-Rate Against CSK

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag has been fined INR 12 lakh for the team’s slow over rate during the IPL 2025 game against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday night in Guwahati. Rajasthan secured their first win on Sunday after suffering two defeats in the ongoing season. With the introduction of the New IPL rule for the slow over rate in IPL 2025 Parag has been handed a fine. It was the second slow over rate penalty in the IPL 2025 after Hardik Pandya was penalised for the match against Gujarat Titans on Saturday. Rajasthan Royals played with three bowlers who combined to bowl 11 overs against CSK in the second innings and overshot the stipulated time to complete their overs. This happened after the side posted a mammoth score of 182 with an impressive knock of 81 from Nitish Rana. Fell once. Fell twice. “I Don’t Believe In…”: Nitish Rana’s Big Praise For Captain Riyan Parag After RR’s First Win

“I Don’t Believe In…”: Nitish Rana’s Big Praise For Captain Riyan Parag After RR’s First Win

Riyan Parag and Nitish Rana in action© BCCI Nitish Rana delivered a verdict on Riyan Parag’s captaincy and traced down the turning point for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings during the pulsating clash in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After two defeats on the trot, Parag got hands on his first win as Rajasthan skipper after the Royals edged out the Super Kings to secure a slender 6-run victory on Sunday. Parag’s leadership was on the radar after Rajasthan’s bowling unit paid through the nose and their batters tilted at windmills, leading to a disjointed set of performances on the field. However, it was a collective performance when all departments were in sync and sang in harmony, which brought an end to Rajasthan’s losing streak. When asked about the 23-year-old as a captain, Nitish doesn’t believe in the notion of judging a player’s ability to captain a side based on results. For Nitish, Riyal is a calm figure as a captain. “I think captaincy is result-oriented. If you win you …
