8 years later, Arijit Singh’s directorial debut Sa still remains unreleased; here is why the singer is not in a hurry | Bollywood News

4 min readKochiMay 4, 2026 09:02 PM IST While soaring in a peerless manner, singer-composer Arijit Singh also harboured a dream of directing a feature film one day. In fact, he first shared this desire almost a decade ago. Two years later, in 2018, his directorial debut Sa premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Co-created with his wife, Koyel Roy, Sa featured their youngest son, Lalu Pragun Singh, in the central role. Although the couple wished to bring the film to the public eventually, Sa remains unreleased even now. Not just Arijit, the movie was also supposed to mark the Hindi debut of actor Chitrangada Satarupa, the daughter of Bengali filmmakers Satarupa Sanyal and Utpalendu Chakrabarty. Although its team was informed about a year ago that the movie was gearing up for release, Sa is yet to see the light of day. Against this backdrop, Chitrangada recently spoke about Sa and her experience working with Arijit Singh. ‘Why are you blaming him?’: Sunil Gavaskar defends Gautam Gambhir, says players have to deliver in the middle | Cricket News

With India head coach Gautam Gambhir coming under scathing criticism after the team’s 0-2 whitwash at the hands of South Africa, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar came out in his defence. Gavaskar said that a coach can only prepare a team and it is the players’ responsibility to perform on the field. “He’s a coach. The coach can prepare a team. The coach can tell, you know, a guy with his experience. But it’s out there in the middle that the players have to deliver,” Gavaskar told ‘India Today’ as per PTI. “Now, to those who are asking, you know, for him to be held accountable, my question, counter-question is: what did you do when India won the Champions Trophy under him? What did you do when India won the Asia Cup under him? “Did you say then – you’re asking for a sacking now – did you say then that he should be given an extended contract, a contract for life for one-day cricket and for T20 cricket?” he added. The 76-year-old also said …

IND vs AUS: Mamma Mia! Here he goes again at the Gabba. Travis Head’s 152 at the Gabba on Day 2 to once again puncture Indian plans and overshadow Jasprit Bumrah fifer, fit right into his general Test outings at Brisbane. The joke here runs that if he’s allowed to get off the mark, Head punishes opponents plenty. His sequence reads 84 (SL), 24 (Pak), 152 (Eng), DNB (Eng), 92 (SA), 0 (SA), 0 (WI), 0 (WI), and now 152 (Ind). Head had started at Brisbane with 84 in 2019 against Sri Lanka, his highest score till then. He boasts of a 152 against England in 2021. Head’s last 6 Test scoring figures at Gabba now read 152, 92, 0, 0, 0, 152. This includes a diamond pair, among three first-ball golden ducks as well as a nervous 92 besides the 152 he put the Poms through. He averages a chunky 66 at the venue, and overall 63 at Gabba. The duck tales panned out against West Indies and South Africa. But things weren’t always …
