Tabbouleh Recipe (Lebanese Tabouli Salad) – Dassana’s Veg Recipes

Tabbouleh (also spelled tabouli or tabbouli) is a fresh Middle Eastern parsley salad made with chopped herbs, bulgur wheat, tomatoes, onions, mint, olive oil and lemon juice. About Tabbouleh Recipe Tabbouleh comes from the Middle Eastern region and is especially popular in Lebanese cuisine. It is commonly served as part of a mezze spread along with Hummus, Falafel, Baba Ganoush and Pita Bread. This salad has bright fresh flavors from parsley and mint along with tanginess from lemon juice. Tomatoes add freshness and juiciness while onions and cucumber bring crunch. The dressing is simple and minimal. Extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper are enough to bring all the ingredients together. You can make tabbouleh throughout the year, but it tastes especially good during warmer months because it is light, cooling and refreshing. How Assam CM Himanta Enjoyed Traditional Pomelo Salad in a Paddy Field on a Cold Winter Noon

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took out time from his busy schedule to enjoy a lazy Friday afternoon lunch at a paddy field in Golaghat district, where he was visiting to inaugurate and lay foundation stone for 14 projects. On the sidelines of his visit, he joined local women harvesting paddy at Rahdholar Pathar to relive childhood memories. Sarma enjoyed freshly harvested and peeled pomelos prepared in a traditional recipe called ‘robab tenga pitika’, which is simply mashed pomelo pulp mixed with spicy bhut jolokia (ghost pepper), a sprinkle of chopped coriander, and dash of mustard oil served on a plantain leaf. The fresh salad is best enjoyed with friends and family in freshly harvested paddy fields on a cold winter noon. “Interacting with women harvesting paddy at Rahdhola Pathar in Golaghat district and having lunch with them was very inspirational. Titakerala Salad, an Assamese Recipe with Bitter Gourd

Upasana Sarma shares the recipe for a most unusual bitter gourd salad she inherited from her Aita, Meera. Bitter gourd salad is something I’d never heard of. Atleast, until my grandmother, Aita, made me fall in love with it. Aita lived in Jorhat, Assam, and she passed away rather suddenly in 2017. I never actually got the chance to ask her if this was a recipe she developed on her own, or was something she learnt from her mother. Aita was gentle in her loving, resolute in her values. And she cooked the most authentic Assamese food when I’d visit in the summer from Guwahati. Aita introduced me to this recipe when I was a teenager, and I’ve loved it since. The key to a great titakerala salad lies in slicing the bitter gourd rounds as thin as possible. MEERA AITA’S TITAKERALA SALAD Ingredients2 bitter gourd, sliced into roundels1 onion, coarsely chopped1 tomato, coarsely chopped2-3 green chillies, chopped3-4 tbsp peanuts, roasted1/2 tsp ginger, julienned3 tbsp mustard oilCoriander, garnish MethodHeat 1 tbsp of mustard oil until …
