Helicopter carrying Uday Samant forced to abort take-off due to technical snag

Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant on Thursday had a narrow escape after the helicopter carrying him to Gadchiroli developed a technical problem shortly after take-off from Nagpur, forcing the pilot to abort the flight, reported the PTI. Samant later travelled to Gadchiroli by road. He said the pilot handled the situation properly and safely brought the helicopter back to the runway. Speaking to a television channel, Samant said he boarded the helicopter at Nagpur between 8.30 am and 8.45 am to travel to Gadchiroli. According to the minister, the pilot had informed him that the helicopter had recently undergone maintenance and that weather conditions were suitable for the flight, the news agency reported. However, after the engine was started and the helicopter took off, the pilot detected a technical problem and decided to abort the flight. Maharashtra to raise industry, fuel and export issues with centre: Uday Samant

Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant has said that the state will raise gas supply, fuel and export concerns of industries with the Centre, reported the PTI. Industries in Maharashtra are reportedly facing difficulties due to the ongoing crisis in West Asia. Samant assured that the industries facing problems will receive support from the state government. Speaking to reporters after meeting industrial associations and factory owners in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the minister said the state would raise issues includuing export finance, banking challenges and fuel supply with the central government. Samant said the concerns of industries affected by the ongoing conflict involving United States, Israel and Iran would be discussed with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said the state expects relief in export-related matters and financial support from banks. “Alternative arrangements for fuel also need to be made, but at the same time we must work on long-term solutions. Maharashtra has received foreign investments worth Rs 75,000 crore in the past three years and tops the country in the sector, claimed state industries minister Uday Samant on Thursday. The state government is making all-out efforts for industrial development in Maharashtra, Samant added during his address at an event in Nashik. “Basic amenities are being provided to industries. In the past three months, the state has received foreign investments worth Rs 75,000 crore and the state tops in the sector,” he said. The Maharashtra government has decided to allot two-acre land near Mumbai to set up an old-age home for poor theatre and backstage artists, Industries Minister Uday Samant said on Tuesday, reported the PTI. Speaking at the function to inaugurate the 100th Akhil Bhartiya Natya Sammelan in Latur city of Maharashtra, Uday Samant said that the land would be allotted through the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation in Ambernath area in Thane district, as per the PTI. “The state government stands firmly with Marathi artists and has provided funds for various initiatives of the Akhil Bhartiya Natya Parishad.
