Samsung’s August Update Patches 56 Security Vulnerabilities Across Galaxy Devices

Samsung’s August Update Patches 56 Security Vulnerabilities Across Galaxy Devices

Samsung is starting August with a security sweep that patches dozens of flaws across Galaxy phones and tablets. The company has published details of its August 2026 Security Maintenance Release (SMR), which addresses 56 security vulnerabilities affecting eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets running Android 14, Android 15, and Android 16. The update includes 38 Android security fixes from Google’s August Security Bulletin and 18 Samsung-specific patches for One UI and Galaxy software. Of Google’s fixes, eight are rated critical, and 30 are classified as high priority. Samsung also noted that nine Google-listed vulnerabilities are not part of this month’s release. One was already included in the July update, while the remaining eight do not affect Galaxy devices because they are tied to hardware or configurations Samsung does not use. The rollout is expected to begin in the coming days, with Samsung’s latest flagship devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy S26 series, likely receiving the update first before it expands to older flagship models and supported Galaxy A-series phones. …

Galaxy S26 FE Price Leak Follows Samsung’s Mobile Profit Slide

Galaxy S26 FE Price Leak Follows Samsung’s Mobile Profit Slide

Samsung posted record companywide results for the second quarter of 2026, but its smartphone business struggled to turn strong Galaxy sales into profit. The company reported KRW 171.5 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 89.5 trillion in operating profit, while higher component costs weighed on its mobile division. The pressure comes as Samsung prepares to release the Galaxy S26 FE and Galaxy Tab S12 series later in 2026. Samsung has not announced official pricing for either product, but a leak from France suggests that every Galaxy S26 FE storage option could cost more than its predecessor. That combination does not prove Samsung is passing its higher costs directly to buyers. It does, however, put more attention on whether the next Fan Edition phone can maintain its value-focused position if the leaked prices are accurate. Higher costs weigh on Samsung’s mobile business Samsung’s July 7 earnings guidance projected approximately KRW 171 trillion in sales and KRW 89.4 trillion in operating profit. The finalized figures reported later in July came in slightly higher, producing another record quarter …

Samsung’s Z TriFold is official and it looks like a tablet with a phone attached

Samsung’s Z TriFold is official and it looks like a tablet with a phone attached

Samsung is officially announcing the Z TriFold, its much-anticipated foldable with not one, but two hinges. It’ll launch first in Korea on December 12th, with a US launch planned for the first quarter of 2026. There’s no price just yet, but if a phone with one hinge costs $2,000, you should probably start saving your pennies nickels for this one. The TriFold’s inner screen measures 10 inches on the diagonal, with a 2160 x 1584 resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that goes all the way down to 1Hz. That’s a lot of screen. You can run three apps vertically side by side on it, and even use Samsung’s DeX desktop environment in a standalone mode without a separate display. On paper, the TriFold’s outer screen looks a lot like the one on the Z Fold 7. It’s a 6.5-inch 1080p display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Each of the TriFold’s three panels has a slightly different thickness. The center panel is the thickest at 4.2mm, and it houses a USB-C port on the …

You can double your Switch 2’s storage with Samsung’s microSD Express card

You can double your Switch 2’s storage with Samsung’s $40 microSD Express card

The Nintendo Switch 2 and all things that orbit the console are among the hottest holiday gifts this year. Consider us surprised to not just see the $499 Mario Kart World bundle selling for $50 off at Walmart and many great Switch 2 accessories discounted during Cyber Monday, but also to see a Samsung 256GB microSD Express card selling at 35 percent off at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart. The Switch 2 itself has 256GB of storage, which is enough for a relatively wide range of games, depending on their file sizes. And most Nintendo-published titles are under 20GB in size. But some third-party titles are dozens of gigabytes each. So even if you don’t need to double your console’s storage just yet, I can’t envision that most people will regret paying $40 for the assurance of having enough room for their next favorite game(s). Hey, if you already know you want to increase your Switch 2’s storage and you’re worried that even 256GB may not be enough, Samsung has another microSD Express card …

Samsung’s trifold gets a name and ‘confirmed’ specs

Samsung’s trifold gets a name and ‘confirmed’ specs

Reputable gadget leaker Evan Blass has taken to X with “some confirmed details” on Samsung’s upcoming trifold phone. It’ll be called the “Galaxy Z TriFold,” according to Blass, with a 6.5-inch cover display that maxes out at 2600 nits brightness. It unfurls to produce a 10-inch display on the inside capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The Galaxy Z TriFold is also expected to host a 200-megapixel main camera, 5,437mAh battery, and Snapdragon SoC under the hood. The thicknesses of the three panels varies from 3.9mm to 4.0mm to 4.2mm, according to Blass. That makes for a phone that could be as thin as 12.1mm when folded, or a little thinner than Huawei’s 12.8mm trifold. But nothing will be officially official until Samsung announces it. Rumored dates for the company’s first trifold have come and gone with the latest suggesting a December 5th launch in Korea, priced around $3,000. Samsung’s new Switch 2-compatible microSD Express card is already on sale

Samsung’s new Switch 2-compatible microSD Express card is already on sale

The Nintendo Switch 2 is backward compatible with most original Switch games, which is a great feature to tide early adopters (like me!) over until more Switch 2 exclusives launch. The console comes with 256GB of internal storage, but that probably won’t be enough room for your entire digital game library. Thankfully, however, Samsung’s 512GB P9 microSD Express card is already on sale for $94.99 ($5 off) at Amazon you clip the on-page coupon. The 256GB model is also available on Amazon, though only for its MSRP of $54.99. The current discount may seem small, but the P9 is already around $20 less expensive than most other 512GB microSD Express cards. The only option that’s cheaper is a card from Onn, Walmart’s house brand, which is available for around $85 but is frequently out of stock. Also, while the Switch 2 is one of the first mainstream gadgets to use a microSD Express card for extra storage, you can pop them into certain cameras, tablets, and drones with a microSD USH-I slot. The P9 offers …

Samsung’s AirPods Pro look-alikes have fallen to their best price in months

Samsung’s AirPods Pro look-alikes have fallen to their best price in months

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 Pro received a decent price drop during Amazon’s October Prime Day sale, but if you held off on picking them up, your patience has been rewarded. Right now, the noise-canceling earbuds are available for around $165 ($85 off) at Amazon and Best Buy, which is the lowest price we’ve seen in months. The discount only applies to the silver color, though, and Amazon shows the deal runs through the end of today, October 30th. The Buds 3 Pro are one of our favorite pairs of wireless earbuds, especially for Samsung Galaxy owners. They feature an AirPods-style design, complete with an elongated stem that provides a secure, stable in-ear fit. They also offer an IP57 rating and about six hours of battery life with active noise cancellation enabled. They’re comfortable to wear over extended periods of time, too, and in his review, former Verge reviewer Chris Welch noted how his ears never felt fatigued after wearing them all day. Samsung’s third-gen earbuds improve upon the sound of the prior model, too, which …

Samsung’s One UI 8 beta arrives on Galaxy S25 phones

Samsung’s One UI 8 beta arrives on Galaxy S25 phones

Samsung has launched its beta test of One UI 8, the company’s customized take on Android 16. The beta is available now on the Galaxy S25, Plus, and Ultra — though strangely not the new S25 Edge — for users in the US, UK, Germany, and South Korea. Unsurprisingly, Samsung is emphasizing the OS update’s AI features, which purportedly include improved multimodal capabilities and more personalization. Despite that, the company’s announcement and update changelog are light on specific details of AI upgrades beyond speed improvements that make AI Select immediate to use, eliminating the previous start-up delay. One UI 8 has also been “optimized for the unique form factors across the Galaxy product portfolio,” echoing Google’s emphasis on Android 16 improving performance and user experience on tablets and foldables. One such change is a new split-screen option to move one app partially off the screen to the edge while you focus on another, which sounds similar to the multitasking tools on the OnePlus Open. Other changes include updates to the layout of Samsung’s Reminder app …

Samsung’s One UI 8 Update Tipped to Get Revamped Reminder App With New UI Elements

Samsung’s One UI 8 Update Tipped to Get Revamped Reminder App With New UI Elements

Samsung is said to be working on One UI 8, its next iteration of the Android operating system based on Android 16. While the rumour mill has provided some information about the Android skin so far, a tipster suggests that the South Korean technology conglomerate could revamp the built-in Reminder app with the One UI 8 update. The Reminder app is said to come with a new user interface (UI) featuring a changed home screen and a comprehensive view of everything you need to remember. Reminder App Changes in One UI 8 Tipster @theordysm shared details about the changes coming to Samsung’s Reminder app in One UI 8. It is said to have an entirely new home screen with users seeing options like Today, Scheduled, Important, Place, No Alert, and Completed on the home screen. In the current One UI 7 version of the app, these are hidden behind the hamburger menu at the top-right corner of the screen. The new update is speculated to eliminate an extra step, removing the need to open the three-dot …

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 to Arrive With Samsung’s First 3nm Chip After Skipping the Galaxy S25 Series: Report

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 to Arrive With Samsung’s First 3nm Chip After Skipping the Galaxy S25 Series: Report

Samsung’s Galaxy Z lineup this year is going to be interesting for a variety of reasons. Slated for a July launch, there’s the bigger, book-style Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 that is tipped to get plenty of hardware upgrades along with a bigger display and a thinner design. Next, we have the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is said to get a smaller share of design updates. Reports also hint at the existence of a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE model, which will be an affordable clamshell much like the Motorola Razr 50. Citing a reliable source, SamMobile states that Samsung’s upcoming clamshell foldable will be powered by an Exynos chipset. This would be none other than the much-rumoured Exynos 2500, which was expected to make its debut with the Samsung Galaxy S25 this year but was held back because of poor yield. Previous repots hinted at this change, but a recent one also pointed out that the Exynos 2500 would not make it to the expected Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE model. The source …
