Sanat Sangwan’s hundred save Delhi from blushes against arch-rivals Mumbai

4 min readMumbaiJan 29, 2026 06:23 PM IST Delhi batsman Sanat Sangwan idolises Virat Kohli. It’s evident in his looks. He spots a neatly-trimmed, tapered beard like Kohli. He wears an ear-stud and he walks with a confident demeanour like the former Indian captain, only that he bats left-handed. He also emerges as the team’s crisis man. Against Mumbai, in the final round of the Ranji Trophy group stage, he scored a defiant hundred to help the visitors put on a competitive total on a surface that assists seamer in the first session. His 118 off 218 balls helped Delhi post 221, in reply to which Mumbai have already found themselves in a spot of bother at 13 for 1. The gritty Sangwan accounted for more than half of the runs in a shoddy batting performance where the next highest score was Pravan Rajvanshi’s 39 and with seven batsmen failing for single-digit scores. Mumbai tested his patience early on, but he survived the tricky phase and batted deep into the day. With Delhi’s score on …

Aman Sehrawat, Neha Sangwan’s suspensions lifted by Wrestling Federation of India | Sport-others News

Wrestling Federation of India on Friday lifted the suspensions of Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat and junior wrestler Neha Sangwan. Aman and Neha were barred from wrestling activities after they were disqualified because of being overweight before their bouts at the recent World Championships and U20 World Championships, respectively. Aman, who competes in the 57kg category of men’s freestyle and won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics last year, was suspended for a year after he failed to make weight ahead of his first bout during the Worlds in Zagreb, Croatia in September. Neha, meanwhile, faced action because of missing weight at the U20 Worlds in Samokov, Bulgaria in August and was served a two-year suspension. 22-year-old Aman had claimed that he missed the weight due to a stomachache. “This is the first such mistake and I am embarrassed about it. But it wasn’t intentional and happened due to a stomach ache that developed the night before the weigh-in,” Aman had said recently. Ranji Trophy: Himanshu Sangwan’s dream delivery spoils Virat Kohli’s homecoming | Cricket News

The crowd hurled abuses at Himanshu Sangwan after he castled Virat Kohli for 6 on the second day of the Ranji Trophy fixture between Delhi and Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Sangwan remained unfazed by the grumbles he received from the despairing 10,000-strong crowd in the stadium and he greeted the scalp, with a smile on his face as Kohli was packed off for 6 off 15 deliveries, though Delhi finished the day on 334-7 in response to Railways’ first innings 241. “When I went back to the boundary line people were saying things. Yaar, hum Kohli ko dekhne aaye aur aapne out kar diya, kuch gaaliyan bhi thi (We came here to watch Virat Kohli bat and there were few abuses also),” he told The Indian Express after the day’s play. pic.twitter.com/9yHaMc69BM — Follow @Legenddhonii (@fuckusuar_) January 31, 2025 “However after a while, a group of boys also cheered me and congratulated me for my good bowling,” he laughed. Ranji Trophy: Sanat Sangwan’s rearguard, Navdeep Saini’s theatrics and poor visibility help Delhi walk away with a point | Cricket News

Fading lights, Tamil Nadu captain Narayan Jagadeesan asking fielders to throw the ball to the boundary in case it stops somewhere in the outfield, TN seamer Sonu Yadav bowling off-spin, Delhi No 10 Himanshu Chauhan crying like a baby after he scratched his elbow after diving to reach the crease. And then, there was Navdeep Saini. Saini’s theatrics wasting time as light faded with TN needing just the last wicket, took the cake, as hosts Delhi walked away with a solitary point and denied the visitors back-to-back outright victories in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. After enforcing the follow-on early in the morning, Tamil Nadu reduced Delhi to 193 for 8 and was on the brink of victory, with Dhruv Kaushik injured and unable to bat, but the visitors had to settle for three points. Two overs were left but umpires called off the day’s play due to poor visibility at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium and TN were left stranded with one wicket left. With six overs more to go and a new ball to …
