Gurpreet Singh Sandhu on Indian football crisis: The thought of having no football, no games scares me… I don’t have an MBA | Football News

It’s a Thursday afternoon and I’m at my home in Bengaluru, getting a deep clean done and tending to my two cats, Flower and Chubby. It’s nice to have this time, but also strange. In normal circumstances, this would have been a period when things would be heating up in the Indian Super League; we would have been 10 games or so in and so many narratives, talking points would have emerged. Instead, we are just training, checking social media for updates and waiting for the Indian Super League (ISL) — rather, Indian domestic football — to restart again. I don’t think something like this has ever happened in Indian football before. Even during Covid, when the world had shut down and fear was everywhere, we still managed to make the league happen. In many ways, that time was tougher than now. There were bubbles, uncertainty, anxiety about health — but there was still football. When the ISL finished in April, my mind immediately shifted to the pre-season. After the Super Cup ended, the thoughts …

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie review: A pointless sequel with non-existent scares

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie review: A pointless sequel with non-existent scares

Cast: Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, Matthew Lillard Director: Emma Tammi Rating: ★.5 When the first Five Nights at Freddy’s landed in 2023, it became an unlikely phenomenon—part nostalgia trip, part carefully packaged PG-13 horror that allowed younger fans to feel like they were touching something dangerous without actually being scared. Built on the cult success of Scott Cawthon’s video-game universe, the film stitched together haunted animatronics, missing children, and internet-fueled mythology into something that audiences devoured regardless of its shortcomings. A sequel was inevitable. Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio and Elizabeth Lail in a still from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 The second instalment opens with a flashback to 1982, where a young girl named Charlotte witnesses a kidnapping during a party at the original Freddy’s location and is murdered while adults inexplicably stand by. Her spirit fuses with a new animatronic—Marionette—setting the stage for another cycle of vengeful horror two decades later. Mike (Josh Hutcherson), his sister Abby (Piper Rubio), and Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) return to confront yet another …

Jatadhara movie review: Sonakshi Sinha, Sudheer Babu conjure up a film which needed more magic, more scares

Jatadhara movie review: Sonakshi Sinha, Sudheer Babu conjure up a film which needed more magic, more scares

Jatadhaara movie reviewDirector: Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek JaiswalCast: Sudheer Babu, Sonakshi SinhaRating: ★★ Don’t get startled at me mentioning Harry Potter and Jatadhara in one breath. Plot compels me. And before anyone raises their wand to curse me, allow me to explain myself. In Jatadhara, ghost hunter Shiv confronts a chilling mystery involving black magic and his haunted past. The story of Jatadhara, written and directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, follows Shiv (Sudheer Babu, who you might remember as the antagonist from Baaghi), a ghost hunter. He’s haunted by dreams of a child being killed by a woman. One day, he stumbles upon a picture of the same people inside his own house. Who are they? Why does he, unknowingly, keep escaping death? And who exactly is Dhan Pishachini? That forms the core of the film. What works in Jatadhara First, the good bits. Jatadhara doesn’t rely on conventional jump scares, nor does it tread the same tired path as most horror dramas. The first half builds up the mystery rather well, barring …
