Blinkit launches NCMC Bharat Yatra Card to enable seamless public transport

Blinkit on Tuesday announced the launch of the NCMC Bharat Yatra Card, a RuPay-powered, zero-KYC prepaid card that will simplify access to public transport systems across multiple Indian cities.  The initiative has been curated to eliminate the need for city-specific transport cards and enable a unified, cashless travel experience for commuters. The card has been priced at Rs 50 and has been developed in collaboration with Pine Labs and operates on the RuPay network. The card supports instant UPI top-ups, allowing users to recharge digitally and use the same card for metro rail and bus services in participating cities. The launch of this card is part of a broader effort to promote digital payments and encourage greater adoption of public transport by making ticketing and access systems more convenient and interoperable across regions. PhonePe UPI Circle was launched in India on Tuesday, as a feature that allows a primary user to authorise secondary users to make payments without their own bank account. Developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI Circle is designed to expand the usage of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), while enabling supervised spending. PhonePe’s rival Google Pay announced support for UPI Circle in August 2024, but the feature has yet to roll out to users across the country. Samraj The Madras High Court on Thursday (February 20, 2025) directed the Podhu Dikshidars of the Sabanayagar Temple, also known as Thillai Natarajar Temple, in Chidambaram as well as the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department to come up with ideas for permitting as many devotees as possible to have a darshan of Lord Shiva from the Kanagasabai during non ‘kala puja’ hours. A special Division Bench of Justices R. Suresh Kumar and S. Sounthar wanted the ideas to be placed before the Bench by March 6. The direction was issued after the counsel for the Podhu Dikshidars committee told the court that his clients, who were the administrators of the temple, were not completely averse to permitting the devotees to have a darshan of Lord Shiva from the Kanagasabai. He, however, said such darshan could be permitted only during non ‘kala puja’ hours. Elaborating his submissions, the counsel said the temple remains open for …
