Firefighting operations underway at Metropolis Hotel in Regimental Bazaar, Secunderabad, on Saturday. Two separate fire accidents were reported in Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the early hours of Saturday, including a blaze at a hotel in Regimental Bazaar and another involving an electric transformer and roadside shops at Purani Haveli X road. No casualties or injuries were reported in both the incidents. In the first case, a fire broke out at Metropolis Hotel in Regimental Bazaar, Secunderabad, at around 5.07 a.m. The blaze originated in the kitchen on the third floor of the multi-storey building and spread to the adjoining dining area. Hydraulic platform vehicle bronto skylift from Secretariat, water tenders from Gandhi Outpost, snorkel appliance and bowser from Secunderabad were rushed to the spot for firefighting operations. Officials said the dining area adjacent to the kitchen was gutted in the fire due to intense flames and heat. Man arrested with smuggled liquor worth ₹2.54 lakh in Secunderabad

A man was arrested with liquor worth ₹2.54 lakh in Secunderabad by the Secunderabad Excise District Task Force (DTF). The DTF team apprehended Sharada Kumar, 28, in the early hours of Wednesday (April 15) in Shivaji Nagar, Monda Market area. The accused was found selling liquor bottles sourced from Delhi. According to officials, Sharada Kumar transported goods to Delhi and, during return trips, purchased the liquor at around ₹1,500 per bottle and sold them in Hyderabad and Secunderabad for ₹3,000 to ₹3,500. Duo held for transporting 18 kg ganja from Odisha to Secunderabad

The accused were identified as 25-year-old Abhishek Singh alias Golu Singh, a native of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, and 23-year-old Abhishek Kumar Singh alias Abinash, a hotel worker from Kolkata. Police said the two are relatives. On Thursday, GRP and RPF sleuths jointly conducted surprise checks targeting drug peddlers on platforms and trains at Secunderabad Railway Station. During the operation, they apprehended the two accused. According to investigators, the prime accused, identified as Digal of Chilka in Odisha, is absconding. HYDERABAD The 359th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with religious fervour and devotion in Secunderabad, with thousands of Sikh devotees and people from other faiths participating in the concluding ceremonies on Sunday. The main programme was organised under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee of Gurdwara Saheb Secunderabad, where a Vishaal Diwan was held at Tivoli Gardens. Devotees gathered in large numbers to offer prayers to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, marking the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru and founder of the Khalsa Panth. Two youngsters killed after speeding bike rams into taxi in Secunderabad

Two youngsters were killed in a road mishap in the early of Wednesday (March 26).The deceased were identified as 18-year-old Pranay, a resident of Bansilalpet and 21-year-old Akshit, 21, a resident of Bhoiguda. According to the Mahankali Inspector K. Parashuram, the incident was reported around 5 a.m. when the two were travelling from Paradise junction to Patny in Secunderabad on their two-wheeler. “The speeding two wheeler rammed into a car that was crossing the road near Patny X roads. While Pranay, who was riding the vehicle, died on the spot, Akshit succumbed while he was being taken to a hospital,” the official said. ‘SCR ANIMISHA’ Vigilance App launched

South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain on Monday launched ‘SCR ANIMISHA’ Vigilance App. The app is a knowledge portal that features information related to Railway Board vigilance circulars, manuals, system improvements, discipline & appeal conduct rules, Prevention of Corruption Act etc. The app also shows the latest information related to the vigilance department, like vacancy notifications, bulletin, achievements, etc. Later, Mr. Jain gave away ‘employee of month’ awards to nine railway personnel who include loco pilots, track maintainers, technicians, points men and others. While three each are from Hyderabad and Guntakal divisions, two are from Vijayawada division, and one from Secunderabad division. The buses, which starts from Platform number 9, travels through Chengicherla – Uppal and Ramanthapur, at a frequency of 40 minutes. According to the schedule shared by the corporation, the first bus leaves from the terminus at 8.35 am and the last bus at 10.40 pm.  Besides this, the corporation has said that the bus number 250C starts leaves from Blue Sea Hotel in Sedunderabad to Cherlapally, is available every ten minutes starting from 4.00 am to 10.30 pm. These buses will travel via Habsiguda, Nacharam, Mallapur.
