India A vs Pakistan Shaheens Highlights: Batting collapse, angry sendoff, umpiring drama as India A suffer thumping defeat in Asia Cup Rising Stars | Cricket News

When Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Naman Dhir were in the middle, India A appeared to be heading to another big score, even if not at the rate they were against UAE a couple of days back. But after Naman fell in the 9th over and Vaibhav followed him in the 10th, India A went from 91/2 to 136 all out against Pakistan A in the Rising Stars Asia Cup tournament in Doha. That collapse proved decisive as Pakistan A cruised past the finish line in just 13.2 overs, riding on an unbeaten 79 from left-handed opener Maaz Sadaqat, who had also picked up a couple of wickets earlier. India’s pacers couldn’t cause early dents in the defence, leaking boundaries and extras as Jitesh Sharma-led India suffered a heavy defeat. Maaz Sadaqat was involved in the bizarre incident of the catch being given a dot ball. During the third over of the PBKS innings, Priyansh ended up miscuing a shot off Digvesh’s bowling and the ball went high up in the air. Shardul Thakur moved across from mid-on and completed an easy catch to give LSG their first breakthrough. Former Australia cricketer Michael Hussey shared his experience the first time he faced a young Jasprit Bumrah in the Mumbai Indians nets during his brief stint with the franchise in 2014 and Hussey revealed that he couldn’t have foreseen the meteoric rise of the wiry pacer, but he wasn’t entirely surprised either. The former Australian batting maestro reflected on his initial encounter with Bumrah, the doubts surrounding his unconventional bowling style, and the stern advice he offered to the young pacer early in his career. “I actually played a year with him in the IPL when I was with the Mumbai Indians,” Hussey told Willow Talk. “He was just a young kid coming through. I remember facing him in the nets and literally couldn’t get bat on the ball. I felt like I was using a toothpick.” The Aussie great was left awestruck by Bumrah’s unique action and sharp pace. “I couldn’t even see the ball, let alone pick it coming out of his hand. His action is so different, so deceptive. My …
