The note read, “Today we are witnessing an unprecedented surge in JioHotstar platform traffic, and the momentum is only compounding with a historic high in ‘Remind Me’ button clicks. With great anticipation comes an even greater responsibility. We’ve upgraded our servers to handle the load and ensure a seamless cinematic experience. The RajaSaab way!” The note accompanied the caption: “Thanks to all the fans for the love and support.” All about The RajaSaab The RajaSaab, directed by Maruthi, also starred Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. While the film marked Prabhas’ return to family entertainers after a spate of mass actioners, it wasn’t well-received. After an opening day haul of ₹100 crore, the film tanked, managing only ₹201 crore eventually. Made on a ₹400-crore budget, the film turned out to be a box-office bomb. When to Use it (And When Not to)

When to Use it (And When Not to)

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) automatically assigns unique IP addresses to your devices, along with other necessary details like subnet masks and default gateway information. This process allows devices to communicate within the network and access the internet. Automating this process, rather than manually configuring each device, saves a lot of time and reduces errors. DHCP is a free and reliable way to configure devices on IP networks, but it isn’t without its drawbacks and security vulnerabilities. I’ll walk you through the advantages of it along with the tradeoffs, to help you understand when it’s apt to use. 1 RingCentral Office Employees per Company Size Micro (0-49), Small (50-249), Medium (250-999), Large (1,000-4,999), Enterprise (5,000+) Medium (250-999 Employees), Enterprise (5,000+ Employees), Large (1,000-4,999 Employees) Medium, Enterprise, Large Features Hosted PBX, Managed PBX, Remote User Ability, and more Essential DHCP terms To understand DHCP, there are a few other terms and technologies you will need to know: IP address: An IP address is a unique identifier for each device on a network. Dell Unveils New AI-Powered Infrastructure at SC24 Conference

Dell announced a suite of new products and services—many intended to address roadblocks to companies adopting generative AI and LLMs—at the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis, held from Nov. 17 to 22 in Atlanta. Varun Chhabra, senior vice president of Infrastructure and Telecom Product Marketing at Dell, said the most pressing issues preventing AI adoption are quality of data, cost, and energy, power demands, and sustainability concerns. “Enterprises are pursuing AI to remain competitive in today’s digital landscape, but they need to harness their proprietary data to differentiate,” Dave Vellante, chief analyst at theCUBE Research, said in a press release. “We’re seeing a resurgence in interest for offerings like Dell’s AI infrastructure, solutions, and services that can help customers prepare their data to extract insights, automate tasks, and transform processes.” Three new server products focus on AI workloads Dell announced three new server products: the PowerEdge XE7740 and PowerEdge XE9685L, and updates to the Integrated Rack 5000 (IR5000) series. The PowerEdge XE7740 with Xeon 6 processors is appropriate for inference …

New Nvidia AI chips overheating in servers | Technology News

New Nvidia AI chips overheating in servers | Technology News

Nvidia’s new Blackwell AI chips, which have already faced delays, have encountered problems with accompanying servers that overheat, causing some customers to worry they will not have enough time to get new data centers up and running, the Information reported on Sunday. The Blackwell graphics processing units overheat when connected together in server racks designed to hold up to 72 chips, the report said, citing sources familiar with the issue. The chipmaker has asked its suppliers to change the design of the racks several times to resolve overheating problems, according to Nvidia employees who have been working on the issue, as well as customers and suppliers with knowledge of the issue, the report said without naming the suppliers. “Nvidia is working with leading cloud service providers as an integral part of our engineering team and process. The engineering iterations are normal and expected,” a company spokesperson said in a statement to Reuters. In March, Nvidia unveiled Blackwell chips and had earlier said they would ship in the second quarter before encountering delays, potentially affecting customers …

VMWare ESXi Servers Targeted by New Ransomware Variant

A new double-extortion ransomware variant targets VMWare ESXi servers, security researchers have found. The group behind it, named Cicada3301, has been promoting its ransomware-as-a-service operation since June. Once an attacker has initial access to a corporate network, they can copy and encrypt its private data using the Cicada3301 ransomware. They can then withhold the decryption key and threaten to expose the data on Cicada3310’s dedicated leak site to force the victim into paying a ransom. Cicada3301’s leak site has listed at least 20 victims, predominantly in North America and England, according to Morphisec. Businesses were of all sizes and came from a number of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and hospitality. Sweden-based security company Truesec first became aware of the group when it posted on the cybercrime forum RAMP on June 29 in an attempt to recruit some new affiliates. However, BleepingComputer says it has been made aware of Cicada attacks as early as June 6. How the ransomware works Attackers gain entry by brute-forcing or stealing valid credentials and logging in remotely via ScreenConnect …

Volt Typhoon Hackers Exploit Zero-Day Vulnerability in Versa Director Servers Used by MSPs, ISPs

Volt Typhoon, a Chinese state-sponsored hacking group, has been caught exploiting a zero-day vulnerability in Versa Director servers, used by managed service providers and internet service providers. CVE-2024-39717 was added to CISA’s “Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog” on Aug. 23 after Lumen Technologies discovered its active exploitation. Data from Censys shows that there are 163 devices in the U.S., Philippines, Shanghai, and India that are still exposed, despite Versa Networks releasing a patch for Versa Director versions 21.2.3, 22.1.2, and 22.1.3. The security company urged users of these devices to segment them into a protected network and isolate them from the internet. Why cybercriminals targeted Versa Director servers Versa Director servers enable MSPs and ISPs to centrally manage network configurations for devices running SD-WAN software. They present a popular target for hackers because they can be used to exploit multiple systems. Because of the potential for a large-scale attack, the vulnerability has been given a ‘’high-severity’ rating by Versa Networks, even though it is relatively difficult to exploit. CVE-2024-39717 affects all Versa Director versions prior to …

Discord is nuking Nintendo Switch emulator devs and their entire servers

Discord has shut down the Discord servers for the Nintendo Switch emulators Suyu and Sudachi and has completely disabled their lead developers’ accounts — and the company isn’t answering our questions about why it went that far. Both Suyu and Sudachi began as forks of Yuzu, the emulator that Nintendo sued out of existence on March 4th. “Discord responds to and complies with all legal and valid Digital Millennium Copyright Act requests. In this instance, there was also a court ordered injunction for the takedown of these materials, and we took action in a manner consistent with the court order,” reads part of a statement from Discord director of product communications Kellyn Slone to The Verge. The developers of Suyu and Sudachi only received vague messages about how they were sharing content that allegedly violates intellectual property rights, according to images shared with The Verge. Meanwhile, Discord tells us that it’s following its normal process for DMCA takedown requests — but it’s not at all clear there was a valid DMCA takedown request or that …

Bluesky starts letting users host their own servers

Bluesky is taking a big leap toward federating. On Thursday, the social network announced that it is opening up early access for users and developers who want to self-host their data. While this isn’t true federation yet, the company plans to open up federation to larger servers with even more users in its next phase. When the dust settles, anyone can (in theory) create their own server with their own rules on Bluesky’s AT Protocol.  The draw of self-hosting is that it offers users more control over their social media. Rather than store your data on Bluesky’s servers, you can keep it on your own, or move your existing posts, likes, and followers to another company’s platform. If Bluesky were to go bankrupt or change hands, users who self-host would have a degree of extra security. In its developer’s blog, Bluesky stressed that “guardrails” are still in place. Most significantly, users can only self-host their own accounts for now, and in the next phase, self-hosted servers will initially be limited to 10 accounts each, with …
