Singer Altaf Raja became a household name soon with his debut album Tum Toh Thehre Pardesi. After the 1997 album, he got several offers to feature in films, both as a singer and actor. Altaf went on to work with filmmaker Rajiv Babbar on the film Shapath. They collaborated on the track “Ishq Aur Pyar Ka Mazaa Lijiye”, which featured Altaf and was also sung by him. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, the singer revealed that Rajiv handed him a blank cheque after completing the shoot of the song. He also claimed that Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan charged Rs 5 lakh for the popular Dhadkan song “Dulhe Ka Sehra”. During the conversation, Altaf recalled, “Rajiv Babbar, the director and producer of Shapath, went to Vaishnodevi to offer his prayers.
