Most Centrally-aided projects in Belagavi completed, says Shettar

Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan and other officers were present. Officials informed him that asphalting work on nearly 4 km has already been completed on the 9-km Halaga-Machhe bypass stretch, while service road construction is in progress. Land acquisition for nearly 37 km has been completed of the 48-km Bagalkot highway. Compensation amounting to ₹270 crore has already been distributed to farmers. The entire process is expected to be completed by February 2027. In the second package, land acquisition for 38 km has been completed. The MP promised to resolve certain complications in the acquisition process. BADIGER Lok Sabha Member Jagdish Shettar has written a letter to Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Transport and Highways, to stop collection of toll on the Belagavi–Khanapur and Belagavi–Sankeshwar–Karud roads. Work on the construction, widening and repair of roads is still pending. The residents of nearby areas are suffering as they have to pay toll on these incomplete roads. Mr. Shettar had switched to the Congress after being denied a ticket by the BJP ahead of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections in May 2023.
