Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said the state government would not allow anyone to be threatened, responding to allegations by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Raut against lawmaker Sanjay Dina Patil. Raut has accused the recently inducted Shiv Sena MP of issuing threats to people protesting against his switch from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Maharashtra Legislative Council member and former minister Bachchu Kadu has called on the two rival Shiv Sena factions to consider reuniting, saying such a move would strengthen the party and benefit Maharashtra, reported the PTI. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Kadu made the appeal a day after both the Shiv Sena and the Shiv Sena (UBT) marked the party’s 60th foundation day separately. Kadu, who recently joined the faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and was elected to the Legislative Council, said senior leaders from both camps should make efforts towards reconciliation.
