GT are chasing a target of 215 and a majority of Gill’s innings came in a mammoth 167-run opening stand between him and Sudharsan. Shubman Gill on Wednesday scored a sublime 72 of just 44 balls to help Gujarat Titans (GT) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by three wickets in a close encounter. The 24-year-old during his innings also became the youngest player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to go past 3000 runs surpassing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) premium batter Virat Kohli and RR captain Sanju Samson. In addition to becoming the youngest to 3000 runs, Gill also became the fourth quickest in terms of innings to reach the mark equalling David Warner and Faf du Plessis’s record.
