While the reasons behind the changes have not been fully disclosed, the developments have renewed attention on the family’s long-running public separation and legal battles. Vibhu The Kerala High Court on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) sought a report from the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Palakkad, about an incident in which three siblings approached the Palakkad District Collector seeking assistance to end the deteriorating marital relationship of their parents. A Bench of Justice P.V. Kunhikrishnan sought the report, following media reports about the incident. The court observed that children cannot be used as pawns. The siblings — two sisters aged 12 years and 10 years, and their eight year old younger brother — had approached the Collector to end the strife between their parents. Their mother reportedly wanted to live with them separately after her return from abroad, while their father reportedly was addicted to liquor. The siblings wanted both their mother and father to live together with them. Two siblings have been arrested on charges of murdering their brother and trying to murder another in the Badvel police limits of Kadapa district. According to police, the murder took place near Sreenivasapuram village in Gopavaram mandal on January 11, and monetary disputes between the brothers were said to be the reason. The deceased has been identified as Mude Chinna alias Channa Gurraiah (42), while the injured one is Mude Pedda Gurraiah, both natives of E. Ramapuram village in Kalasapadu mandal. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted searches in Lucknow at the family residence of Shaheen Shahid Ansari (44) and her younger brother, Parvez Ansari (38), as part of its investigation into last month’s Red Fort explosion. The duo were arrested in connection with the alleged “transnational and interstate terror module” that the J&K Police busted last month. The NIA had arrested Shaheen, after it took over the probe into the Red Fort blast. According to officials, Lucknow is among eight locations where the NIA is conducting coordinated searches.
