Commander Prerna Deosthalee last year became the first ever female officer to be handed over the command of a warship in the Indian Navy. She is presently commanding the fast attack craft INS Trinkat. Her brother, Commander Ishan Deosthalee has now been given the command of INS Vibhuti which is a Veer-class missile vessel of the Indian Navy. The vessel Vibhuti was part of the steam past given to President Draupadi Murmu off the coast of Goa in the Arabian Sea. Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed a petition before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), accusing his sister and Andhra Pradesh Congress president Y S Sharmila of illegally transferring shares of Saraswati Power and Industries Private Limited, which were held by him and his wife Bharathi, on her and their mother Vijaya Lakshmi’s name. The petition was filed under Section 59 of the Companies Act, which deals with rectification of the register of members. It also names former directors at Saraswati Power, the Registrar of Companies in Telangana, and the Regional Director of South East Region. An official from Jagan’s office claimed, “These shares are not inherited assets, Jagan chose to give it (to his mother) out of love and affection. . Two minor siblings were feared drowned after they accidentally slipped into Kengeri lake while they went to fetch water on Monday (October 21, 2024). The victims have been identified as Laxmi, 11, and her elder brother Srinivas, 13. According to the police, the incident occurred between 5.30 and 6 pm on Monday. Based on the information at the fire control room , emergency rescue team and Hoysala patrolling team reached the spot. An officer said that the two stayed in a house near the lake with their mother who works with the Bengaluru civic body after the death of their father . Police suspect that the their water pot fell into the lake and they ventured into the water to get the pot and drowned as they did not know swimming. The fire and emergency services team tried to search for the bodies and called off the operation due to bad light and weather conditions . It was decided to resume the search at 6 am on Tuesday. Further investigation is underway, say cops (Representational) Gwalior: The bodies of a 21-year-old woman and her teen siblings were recovered from a river on Saturday after they went missing along with their mother some days ago in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, a police official said. Mamta Jatav (47), a resident of Kalyani village, had gone missing along with her children on October 15, after which her husband approached police, Additional Superintendent of Police Niranjan Sharma said. “On the same day, we found a bag near Singh river at Dhumeshwar Dham. It contained a suicide note in which the woman said she and her children were ending their lives due to harassment from her husband. An SDERF team found the bodies of her daughters Bhawana (21), Bhoomika (17) and son Kittu (14) on Saturday,” the official said. “The search for Mamta continues.
