BJP takes a dig at Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister for skipping WEF

Taking serious exception to Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar skipping his scheduled visit to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum, BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra has termed this as apathy of the Congress leadership towards governance and their distorted priorities In a social media post, Mr. Vijayendra said: “The World Economic Forum at Davos was a golden opportunity to showcase our State as a unique and attractive destination for global investors. It was an opportunity that could have driven employment generation and promoted industrial growth beyond Bengaluru.” At a time when the State desperately needs development and economic revival, the Deputy Chief Minister chose to skip this crucial global platform, citing pressing engagements in New Delhi and Bengaluru, he said, and remarked that one did not need much imagination to guess what those engagements were. “Several supporters of the Deputy Chief Minister have openly spoken about a change in leadership post Sankranti, and it now appears that Davos became the first casualty of this internal tug-of-war for power,” he alleged. “This pattern of misplaced …

I felt like I’ve been close to that and played really well. And the emotional drain of actually being in an Ashes series and playing it is always tough. So I think it’s important to go into a World Cup fresh, but we’ll see where we …

BJP slams Rahul for `skipping` CJI`s oath ceremony, says Cong has no respect

The BJP on Monday slammed Rahul Gandhi for “skipping” the oath ceremony of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and alleged the Congress neither has any respect for B R Ambedkar nor for the Constitution. Justice Surya Kant, who has been part of several landmark verdicts, including on the abrogation of Article 370 removing Jammu and Kashmir`s special status and Bihar electoral rolls revision, took oath as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on Monday. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to Justice Kant at a brief ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the senior leaders who attended the ceremony. “Today, when the entire country was in a sense celebrating, particularly Haryana, the Chief Justice of India`s oath ceremony and the entire government led by Modiji was present at the event, he skipped it, boycotted it,” BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, flaying Gandhi over his absence at the event. “Instead of attending this solemn programme, Rahul Gandhi may be on some foreign …

The result had not been impressive, with low box office collections. It had ended on a cliffhanger, promising a second installment. But now, two months later, Nishaanchi 2 has quietly been dropped on a streaming platform instead. Anurag Kashyap directed Nishaanchi We reach out to Anurag about this decision, and he says, “It was my suggestion, and our collective decision between Amazon (producers) and us.” He attributes it to the underwhelming support from viewers, “Had the audience turned up for part 1, there is no way the second part wouldn’t have been released in cinemas. US Embassy in India cautions students against skipping classes or leaving midway

The US Embassy in India has cautioned students that skipping classes or leaving the program without informing authorities will lead to visa revocation, as the Trump administration mounts scrutiny of overseas students. “If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked, and you may lose eligibility for future US visas,” the embassy posted on social media platform X.  The warning comes when the Trump administration is embroiled in a battle with Harvard University. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revoked Harvard’s certification to admit foreign students for the 2025-26 academic year. The university sued the US administration in the district court of Massachusetts, which blocked the order, providing temporary relief. The Trump administration has already ended Federal grants worth more than $2 billion to Harvard. It also aims to cancel remaining contracts, the NYT reported. Indian students studying across the US While 788 Indian students are studying at Harvard, thousands of others are enrolled in colleges across the US. According to data …
