The High Court also stayed further investigation in the case. Justice M Nagaprasanna saw the CCTV camera footage, showing Principal Civil Judge and JMFC, Gayatri, getting into a verbal spat with petitioners Vinya K M and V Kavita. “The video would clearly indicate that the judicial officer has behaved in a manner totally unbecoming of the office that she holds,” the court said. The bench said: “Judicial office is a continuation of public trust, it is not only inside the courtroom, but it is behaviour outside the courtroom that would erode the confidence of the public or sustain the confidence. Every act of a judicial officer is discharge of official duties and is not confined to the four walls of the court hall but travels beyond the court hall when the interaction …

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut criticised the recent student protests against NEET examination irregularities, saying the use of “obscene language” and personal attacks during demonstrations were “completely unacceptable” to society. Speaking to the media personnel, she referred to the protests and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother had been subjected to abusive remarks. “Our 75-year-old Prime Minister was targeted, and filthy abuse was hurled at his late mother. We, too, have participated in student protests. But what kind of students are these, and what kind of obscene language are they using? In what way do they resemble students? If these individuals need Supreme Court lawyers or legal counsel in the future, will their parents be able to afford it? They do not have the means to afford it themselves. We have been building our own careers since the age of sixteen. We have never been a burden on our parents. As a society, this is completely unacceptable to us,” Ranaut said. Varma, who scored 11 off 9 deliveries in the final game, has recently been criticised for consuming too many dot balls and playing too slowly in the middle order. Srikkanth slammed Tilak for his innings, comparing him unfavourably with Rajat Patidar, and suggested that the two-time IPL-winning captain deserves a chance ahead of the current India vice-captain. “Once again, Tilak ate nine balls. He can’t play fast for too long. Where is the consistency? Tell me? What did he do in England? There will be one knock here and there,” said Srikkanth on his YouTube channel. “He is nothing compared to Rajat Patidar. If you want a real solid T20 knock, go to Patidar, give him a chance. Everyone is getting chances like Yash Thakur, give him a chance too,” he added. Tilak scored an …
