(FILE) New Delhi: Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav has been arrested in the snake venom-rave party case after he was questioned by the Noida Police. Mr Yadav has now been sent to a 14-day judicial custody. A case under the Wildlife Act was registered against him in Noida and five others for arranging snake venom for use as a recreational drug at rave parties last year. The police had raided a banquet hall on November 3 last year in sector 51 of Noida and arrested five people including four snake charmers and recovered nine snakes and poison. Youtuber Elvish Yadav was arrested on March 17 by Noida Police in connection with a probe into the suspected use of snake venom as a recreational drug at a party in Noida, officials said. Yadav was among six people named in an FIR lodged at Sector 49 police station in Noida on November 3 last year. The five other accused were arrested but are currently out on bail, the officials said. The case was lodged under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Indian Penal Code, they said. The case was later shifted from Sector 49 to Sector 20 police station for investigation. “The accused has been arrested by a team of Sector 20 police station which was investigating the case,” Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Mishra told PTI. Now, the forensic reports of samples taken from the alleged rave party last year have confirmed that they were indeed snake venom of Cobra and Krait snake species. Elvish Yadav was reportedly at a rave party where snake venom was illegally used. Six people, including YouTuber Elvish Yadav, were booked under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly providing snake venom for a party in Noida’s Sector 51.
