It doesn’t mean everything is working. If one thing succeeds, similar projects start getting made. Sabko wahi banaana hai. Abhi sabko Stree ke baad horror comedy banaana hai (Everyone wants to make the same. After Stree, everyone wants to make horror comedies). As an actor, I don’t think that should be the parameter. “Most So-Called AI Things Are Silly, Old Programmes”: Narayana Murthy

Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy has said it has “become a fashion” in India to talk about artificial intelligence (AI) for everything, emphasising that most “so-called AI things are silly, odd programmes”. Speaking at a TiEcon Mumbai 2025 event on Wednesday, Mr Murthy said, “I think somehow it has become a fashion in India to talk of AI for everything. I have seen several normal, ordinary programmes being touted as AI.” Mr Murthy shared two fundamental principles of AI – machine learning and deep learning. Explaining machine learning, he said, it is “nothing but a large-scale correlation. Based on a large amount of data, it helps you predict.” Deep learning, he said, imitates human brain functioning. While machine learning handles supervised algorithms, deep learning takes care of unsupervised algorithms. “Deep learning, using the data it has, creates new branches of programmes or new conditions and then it will be able to take decisions. Unsupervised algorithms, which use deep learning and neural networks are the ones that have much greater potential to do things that will mimic …

Pratik Gandhi: ‘Have many friends, who are not so-called alpha males’

Pratik Gandhi: ‘Have many friends, who are not so-called alpha males’

Who is a hero? The one who leads from the front, or the one who always has your back and provides unwavering support? Both, says Pratik Gandhi. With this approach, he signed Dhoom Dhaam, which sees him as a shy, faint-hearted Veer in love with a fierce Koyal, played by Yami Gautam. Drawing parallels with bungee-jumping, Gandhi says, “In bungee jumping, the one who jumps is a hero. But the rope that is saving you from falling is an equal hero.” It’s rare and refreshing to see a man on screen being a quiet support to the woman as she unabashedly takes the lead. On that count, Rishab Seth’s directorial venture offers a delightful role reversal. But Gandhi says he has seen such men in his life. “We don’t always see men fighting or taking the lead. I have so many friends and men in my family, who are not so-called alpha male. But they are alpha in their own ways. They want to be a strong support. Veer is the kind of a man …

Dozens of protesters against so-called ‘Russian law’ arrested in Georgia as police crack down | World News

Dozens of people have been arrested in Georgia after police in the capital used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters who rallied outside Parliament to protest a controversial bill which they argue limits media freedom. Georgia’s Interior Ministry said 63 people were arrested Tuesday while they took part in a demonstration in Tbilisi. Levan Khabeishvili, an opposition MP, posted a picture of himself on his social media accounts with a bloodied face and heavy bruising. Members of his party said he had been assaulted by police. Those arrested were taking part in the latest in a series of protests against a bill which would require media and non-commercial organizations to register as “pursuing the interests of a foreign power” if they get more than 20% of their funding from abroad. The protesters have denounced it as “the Russian law” because Moscow uses similar legislation to stigmatize independent news media and organizations critical of the Kremlin. It is similar to a bill that the ruling Georgian Dream party proposed and then withdrew under pressure …
