The SOG has been probing into the matter for five days to trace a suspected network. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which took over the probe following the Centre’s direction, registered a case on Tuesday. While the examination has been cancelled by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the CBI is expected to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations of a paper leak. A truck driver was arrested in Gujarat’s Dahod district on Friday for attempting to murder a police inspector while trying to flee an inter-state check post. Dahod district police said the incident occurred around 1 am at the Khangela inter-state check post, which is a key entry point into Gujarat used to check smuggling, particularly of liquor. When a team from Katvara police station signalled a truck to stop, the driver allegedly ignored the signal and sped away, prompting a police chase. The police chased the truck for nearly two kilometres before intercepting it. According to officials, the driver initially got into a verbal argument with the police and repeatedly boasted about his large social media following. Bhubaneswar, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated a new training and briefing centre along with a state-of-the-art counter-terrorism training complex of the Special Operations Group at Chandaka to strengthen operational capabilities of the state’s elite anti-Maoist force.
