North Zone officers of Hyderabad Traffic police during the drive at CTO junction, Secunderabad. | Photo Credit: Arrangement On the first day of the special drive conducted by Hyderabad traffic police on Monday, a total of 1,702 cases of wrong-side driving and 227 cases of irregular number plate violations were registered across various police station limits until 6 p.m. The highest offenders in wrong-side driving were booked by the Malakpet Traffic Police, which recorded 262 violations, followed by Bowenpally (142), Begumpet (136), and S.R. Nagar (102). The crackdown also saw substantial numbers from Tolichowki (95), Chikkadpally (83), and Langer House (85). For number plate violations, the most cases were recorded under Begumpet Traffic Police Station, with 85 violations, while Banjara Hills (15) and Mahankali (11) also reported a significant number of offences. The drive was conducted under the jurisdiction of three Deputy Commissioners of Hyderabad Traffic Police. DCP-1 recorded the highest number of cases, with 652 wrong-side driving violations and 158 number plate violations, followed by DCP-III with 692 and 19 cases, respectively. DCP-II registered …
