The Gurugram unit of the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a suspect from Rohtak who was wanted by Punjab Police for the last six months in connection with the seizure of 50.14 kilograms of heroin worth around ₹250 crore in the international market, officials said on Monday. The suspect was traced after his younger brother’s arrest in Bhiwani, where police seized 8.9 kg of heroin allegedly meant for multiple states. (File photo) Officials said the suspect was arrested on May 28 and taken on four-day police remand for detailed interrogation. According to STF officials, the suspect came under their radar after the arrest of his younger brother from Bhiwani on May 21 with 8.9 kilograms of heroin worth at least ₹40 crore in the international market. The younger brother was allegedly supplying heroin on a large scale across southern Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday arrested an accused carrying ₹50,000 bounty in connection with a Gangster Act case from Mumbai, nearly five years after he allegedly fled Ayodhya to escape police action in multiple robbery cases, STF officials said on Monday. An STF team conducted surveillance and arrested him near the main gate of Ghatkopar police station at around 4:40 pm on Saturday. (FOR REPRESENTATION) The accused, identified as Adil Ansari, was arrested from the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai, where he had allegedly been living under a false name and identity, officials said, adding, he was later brought back to Uttar Pradesh and handed over to Ayodhya police for further legal action. Ansari, a resident of Subhash Nagar under Kotwali Nagar police station in Ayodhya district, was wanted in case registered under Section 3(1) of the UP Gangster Act at Kotwali Nagar police station in 2022. Lucknow, The Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force has arrested a member of an interstate gang involved in illegal smuggling of oxytocin injections in Lucknow and seized a large quantity of the drug, officials said on Tuesday. During interrogation, the accused confessed to being part of a gang supplying oxytocin illegally in Lucknow and nearby districts. He told police that another gang member, Irfan, a resident of Balaganj’s Cattle Colony area, used to provide him with the injections, which were then distributed across various locations in the city.
