BTC, ETH See Miniscule Profits, Losses Strike Stablecoins Tether, USD Coin

Bitcoin on Friday, December 30, opened trading with a small profit of 0.08 percent. At the time of writing, BTC prices on national and international exchanges, stand at $16,585 (roughly Rs. 13.7 lakhs). From its last all-time high of $68,000 recorded last November, the year of 2022 pushed Bitcoin down the price ladder very drastically. Now, on the second last day of the year 2022, BTC has marked a significantly low value. The crypto price charts reflected reds next to greens as crypto prices fluctuated big time for most coins. RBI Suggests Common Approach to Crypto Assets to Avoid Potential Financial Risks

To address potential financial stability risks and protect investors, it is important to arrive at a common approach to crypto assets, the Financial Stability Report released by RBI said on Thursday. In this context, various options are being considered internationally, it said. One option is to apply the same-risk-same-regulatory-outcome principle and subject them to the same regulation applicable to traditional financial intermediaries and exchanges, the report said. Another option is to prohibit crypto assets, since their real life use cases are next to negligible and the challenge is that different countries have different legal systems and individual rights vis-à-vis state powers, it noted. A third option is to let it implode and make it systemically irrelevant as the underlying instability and riskiness will ultimately prevent the sector from growing, it said. The third option, however, is fraught with risks as the sector may become more interconnected with mainstream finance and divert financing away from traditional finance with broader effect on the real economy, the report said. Bitcoin, Ether Prices Dip as Shiba Inu, Stablecoins Record Profits

Bitcoin registered a loss of 1.50 percent on national and international exchanges on Friday, and the oldest cryptocurrency was trading at the price point of $17,406 (roughly Rs. 14.4 lakh). BTC, in the last 24 hours, has effectively lost up to $328 (roughly Rs. 27,168) to trade at current prices. The cryptocurrency, so far in the last two months, has not been managed to trade above the level of $18,000 (roughly Rs. 14.90 lakh). More losses than gains were recorded on the crypto price charts, as the market opened for trade amid fluctuations on Friday. Ether moved in alignment with Bitcoin and met with price dips. More cryptocurrencies saw losses than profits, as the turbulent month of November 2022 inches closer to its end. Bitcoin on Monday, November 28, opened with a value loss of 2.37 percent. BTC, at the time of writing, is trading at $16,111 (roughly Rs. 13 lakh). This is the second consecutive week where the oldest cryptocurrency has failed to break past this price point. On international exchanges like Binance and Coinbase as well, BTC struggled with small losses and traded at a similar price point. Ether tailed Bitcoin on the loss-trail.
