Judge appeals to stakeholders to join hands to eradicate child labour

Marulasiddaradhya has appealed to all stakeholders to join hands to eradicate the practice from its root. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a World Day Against Child Labour function in Yadgir on Friday. He stressed that legal action should be initiated against those who are responsible for child labour. Necessary awareness should be created among parents who are forced to allow their children to take up labour, he said. “Law not only prevents child labour but also hands out punishment accordingly if a citizen is found using children aged below 14 years as labour,” the judge said. He said that child labour keeps the nation undeveloped and said no child should be deprived of getting an education.
