Stalin on Saturday (June 6, 2026) called upon party workers to take a pledge to bring down the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) government, which he said was surviving with the support of parties that were once part of the DMK-led alliance and had won seats in the Assembly. “The TVK government is, in a way, being sustained by our support because our former alliance partners are backing it. These are the very parties that wanted us to win the election. Their leaders themselves clarified that they had consulted me before extending support to the TVK. Stalin handed over assistance measures to them in the Secretariat in Chennai on Monday. Mr. Stalin handed over a housing patta worth ₹2.5 lakh, a housing allotment under the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam programme to be constructed at ₹3.55 lakh to the children. He also handed over an appointment order for a computer assistant job to one of them, and also handed over orders sanctioning assistance to two children under the Anbukkarangal initiative. Under the Anbukkarangal initiative, each of the children would get a financial assistance of ₹2,000 a month. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday accused AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami of “voice dubbing” for the BJP and said he proved correct the DMK’s allegation that there is a secret alliance between the two parties. Answering questions in his “Ungalil Oruvan” series (One among you), the DMK president, when asked on opinions expressed by DMK’s allies and if there had been any “contradictions,” the CM said he considered their views only as advice.
