Movie Review: ‘One Night Only’ is a tease, but its stars score

“The Purge” for sex is the best way to describe the premise of “One Night Only” unless you prefer Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” for one-night stands. Movie Review: ‘One Night Only’ is a tease, but its stars score As the movie announces right away: The U.S. government has passed a mandate that premarital sex is illegal except for one night a year. For the past three years, sex out of wedlock has been off limits except for an annual 12-hour reprieve. “It’s been a lot,” reads the opening title cards. Such a concept, naturally, spawns a lot of questions. How could such a policy be policed? Where, exactly, are the lines drawn? And why hasn’t everyone moved to Canada? But “One Night Only,” directed by Will Gluck , is less interested in extrapolating the potentially very bizarre ramifications of its dystopian concept than it is selling a surprisingly tame romantic tale. “One Night Only” may be dressed up as a raunchy sex comedy, but it’s a rom-com at heart, and a chaste one at that. …

‘Deool Band 2, Laalo made more money than Alpha’: Producer says ‘stars don’t matter’ | Bollywood News

3 min readNew DelhiJul 31, 2026 02:42 PM IST Bollywood has been experiencing more misses than hits at the box office and while a film like Dhurandhar The Revenge did some excellent business at the box office, crossing Rs 1800 cr worldwide, no other Indian film has even made half that amount of money. Yet, several big-budget films release almost every month. Recently, producer Shailendra Singh spoke about the same when he compared Alpha, the Alia Bhatt film which was produced by YRF, and was mounted on a big scale, to smaller regional films like Laalo and Deool Band 2, that performed better than Alpha. Shailendra, in a chat with Cyrus Broacha, on his YouTube channel, said that the failure rate in Bollywood is as high as 94 percent and added that it doesn’t matter who stars in the film, and only stories matter. He claimed that the Gujarati film Laalo made Rs 140 crore, and the Marathi film Deool Band 2 made over Rs 90 crore, while Alia’s film couldn’t even cross the Rs …

Rajesh Khanna bought star’s ‘lucky’ home for Rs 3.5 lakh; was furious when Salman Khan bid for Aashirwad; sold for Rs 90 cr after his death

When Rajesh Khanna was alive, he had one dream for Aashirwad, his iconic sea-facing bungalow on Mumbai’s Carter Road. He wanted it to be converted into a museum after his death. After all, Rajesh Khanna wasn’t just another star. He was Hindi cinema’s first superstar, an actor who delivered 15 consecutive hit films—a record that remains unbeaten. Although his unprecedented stardom peaked and faded within a few years, Khanna always believed Aashirwad had changed his destiny. Interestingly, before it became Aashirwad, the bungalow was called Dimple. How Rajendra Kumar bought the bungalow for Rs 65,000 The story begins with another superstar of his era, Rajendra Kumar. In the late 1950s, when Rajendra Kumar was still finding his feet in the film industry, he dreamt of owning a bungalow. Around this time, he came across a neglected property on Carter Road. According to journalist Peter John, the bungalow was in such a dilapidated condition that no one was willing to buy it, despite its modest asking price. Rajendra Kumar immediately signed a cheque for Rs 10,000 …

The two 21-year-olds are seen as the future of badminton, though they have done enough to be considered the present. While Alwi has two titles this season, Ayush is still searching for his big one. China Open offers a good opportunity for the World No.23. Though his draw half is stacked — including Lakshya Sen in the semis possibly — he can dream big, after securing a confidence-boosting result, getting past a 2022 World Jrs batchmate who he hadn’t beaten since 2023. Ayush plays Nhat Nguyen, a pokey tricky Irishman next. Sen registered a fighting win over Yushi Tanaka after an especially tricky first set, where he contrived to …
