Flags and festoons flutter high and high-rise cutouts have made their presence quite conspicuous at the Pabbapuram venue in Chintakommadinne mandal of Kadapa district. In view of the venue’s location close to the bypass road, traffic disruption in the city is expected to be minimal. The TDP district machinery has made elaborate arrangements for the leaders and functionaries to reach the sprawling venue through five routes. Substandard drugs: Karnataka extra cautious; samples being tested at State-level before supplying to district warehouses

To deal with the issue of substandard drugs, the State Health Department is now getting samples of drugs tested after procurement from successful bidders at the State-level before they are supplied to district warehouses, said Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao. Responding to BJP member Talwar Sabanna, Mr. Rao said 10 additional NABL laboratories have been empanelled for drug testing in the State. He said a proposal has been sent to the Finance Department to include a tender condition for officials to personally visit the drug manufacturing companies annually or once in every two years to check the quality of the products. “The Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd. (KSMSCL) is being strengthened to ensure the distribution of quality medicines to public health institutions. Manipur Govt to review implementation of Inner Line Permit system, state-level committee formed | India News

The Manipur Government Monday constituted a state-level committee to review the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system after 29 people were found to have been issued ILP in violation of guidelines. The 29 individuals were apprehended at Mayang Imphal in Imphal West district during a raid conducted on Saturday. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said the raid was conducted following a tip-off that a group of Bangladeshis illegally entered the state. But all 29 people turned out to be residents of Assam. “The 29 individuals were working in a bakery under the Labour Category of ILP – which upon verification through Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West was found to have been issued not in compliance with Manipur ILP guidelines, 2019. As per preliminary findings, we have identified the officer who issued the permits,” said Biren Singh. State-level badminton tourney in Nellore from June 1

Andhra Pradesh Badminton Association president Mukkala Dwarakanath on Saturday unveiled the poster of the State-level Open Badminton Tourney to be conducted in Nellore from June 1. The two-day tournament is being organised by the Nellore District Badminton Association in collaboration with F2 Badminton Academy. He lauded the academy for conducting such competitions regularly in the district. State-level ‘Praveshanolsavam’ in Kochi on June 3

The State-level school ‘Praveshanolsavam’ marking the start of the new academic year will be held at Government Higher Secondary School, Elamakkara, here on June 3. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the programme. V. Sivankutty, Minister for General Education, will preside. Various teacher organisations will extend their support for the conduct of the event. A conclave will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on May 28 to discuss measures to improve the learning capabilities of children. Experts will attend, said an official communication.
