The Haryana Steelers won their maiden Pro Kabaddi League title on Sunday after they defeated Patna Pirates in the final. The Steelers won with a score line of 32-23 with Shivam Patare scoring 9 points, Mohammadreza Shadloui bagging 7 and Vinay adding 6 more to the cause. The champions were awarded Rs 3 crore while the Pirates, who are the runners-up, were awarded Rs 1.8 crore. In the match, the Steelers picked up the first few points and the lead in the early exchanges with Patare and Shadloui dictating terms for the eventual champions. The Steelers’ defence, led by Jaideep and Rahul Sethpal made scoring extremely tough for the Patna Pirates but as the half progressed, Gurdeep and Sudhakar brought the Pirates back within touching distance of their opponents.
