Airlines seek ATF price relief; say industry on verge of `stopping operations`

Major Indian carriers, including Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet, have warned the government that the aviation sector is under extreme financial stress and may be “on the verge of stopping operations” without urgent intervention. The concerns were raised in a letter to the civil aviation ministry by the Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA), which represents the three airlines. According to the PTI, the airlines said the ongoing turmoil in West Asia has pushed up global oil prices, while airspace restrictions have increased operating costs, particularly on long-haul routes. Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), which accounts for nearly 40 per cent of airline operating costs, has become significantly more expensive. The FIA has urged the government to introduce a uniform fuel pricing mechanism for both domestic and international operations, similar to the earlier “crack band” system. The federation said the widening gap between crude oil and ATF prices is making airline operations financially unsustainable, with airlines facing mounting losses, the news agency reported. Warning of flight disruptions The airlines warned that any further ad hoc changes in …

The White House released a fact sheet late on Monday asserting India has committed to stop purchasing Russian oil, reduce tariffs on “certain pulses”, and ending digital services taxes — claims the Indian government has not officially confirmed and that do not appear in the bilateral joint statement released by both countries last week. The White House fact sheet lists “certain pulses” among agricultural products on which India will reduce tariffs—a category not mentioned in the February 7 joint statement. (File Photo/Reuters) The fact sheet and an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on Friday both state India “has committed to stop directly or indirectly importing Russian Federation oil” in exchange for removing a 25% tariff penalty. However, the February 7 India-US joint statement makes no mention of Russian oil purchases or any Indian pledge to halt them. The fact sheet said the two sides reached a framework for an interim deal after Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on a call. India has not confirmed it will eliminate Russian energy purchases. Foreign …

Stranger Things 5 Reveals Vecna’s Darkest Strategy Yet & Why Will Is The Key To Stopping Him

Stranger Things 5 Reveals Vecna’s Darkest Strategy (Photo Credit – Instagram) Vecna steps back into Stranger Things season 5 with a plan that proves to be more detrimental than anything he has attempted before. His return is no surprise, and yet the method behind his move feels heavier and sharper. The highly anticipated Volume 1 wastes no time, bringing the Hawkins gang together again after three long years. Eleven and Hopper ground the story, while Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Robin, Steve, Jonathan, and Nancy each push the plot forward without feeling scattered as they did in season 4. Will’s Season 1 Abduction Becomes The Blueprint The season opens with a sharp look backwards, dragging viewers back to the moment in season 1 when the Demogorgon pulled Will into the Upside Down. That scene now plays differently as we learn that Vecna infused Will with a strange substance that strengthened a psychic bond between them. It was not random horror but rather the start of a blueprint. Vecna intends to repeat that method with new victims. …
