Telangana Police must strengthen technology use, real-time data updates: DGP CV Anand

Anand has said the State Police department, once regarded as one of the country’s leading forces in adopting technology, has fallen behind in certain areas due to inadequate utilisation of available technological systems and shortcomings in field-level implementation. Addressing Station House Officers and officers from various police units through a video conference from the DGP Office in Hyderabad on Monday (June 8, 2026) the DGP stressed the need for effective use of existing technological resources and strengthening data-driven policing systems across the State. He said technology in policing is not limited to developing software applications but depends on their effective use, continuous updating and real-time data management. During the review meeting, discussions focused on digital policing applications, Telangana Cop platforms, technological systems, operational challenges and implementation issues at the field level.
