The United States has released a video of its strikes on Iranian missile and drone storage sites and coastal radar positions on Friday. The attack came after Tehran launched a drone against a Singapore-flagged cargo ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command said. Notably, a ceasefire remains in place between the two as they negotiate a permanent binding deal to end the war in West Asia. US aircraft carried out the strikes in response to Iran’s attack on the M/V Ever Lovely on June 25, in which a one-way attack drone hit the upper deck of the vessel as it exited the strait along the Omani coast, CENTCOM said in a statement from Tampa, Florida. https://t.co/CckXLJSpah pic.twitter.com/NoMQ7cNtN5 — U.S. Central Command (@CENTCOM) June 27, 2026 Iran struck the M/V Ever Lovely with a drone on June 25 as the cargo ship passed through the Strait of Hormuz one of the world’s most critical waterways, through which a fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies typically flows. US Supreme Court has struck down Trump’s global tariffs. But it won’t stop the President’s trade confrontations

5 min readFeb 21, 2026 11:43 AM IST First published on: Feb 21, 2026 at 11:43 AM IST Donald Trump built his political brand on two promises meant to reinforce each other: Tighter borders and tougher trade. Tariffs were not a sideshow but were framed as leverage against China, against countries running surpluses with the United States, and, at times, even against neighbours accused of falling short in immigration enforcement. That approach has now run into a legal tussle. On February 20, the US Supreme Court struck down most of Trump’s sweeping global tariffs as beyond statutory authority, holding that a 1977 emergency statute could not be used to impose blanket duties on imports. Trump’s reaction was immediate and predictably combative as he denounced the justices, called the decision “a disgrace”, and announced a temporary 10 per cent global tariff for 150 days under Section 122 while signalling he would pursue other legal routes to keep his tariff campaign alive. The question now is not whether tariffs disappear but what legal routes remain open, and …
