File | Photo Credit: PTI Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (July 24, 2026) spoke to the family members of the slain policeman Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who was killed in a terror attack on July 22 in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Meanwhile, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also met the family. Mr. Shah expressed his condolences and extended support to the victim’s son during a visit of BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LOP) Sunil Sharma to the deceased policeman’s house in Budgam’s Beerwah area. “I am grateful to Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji for personally speaking to the martyr’s son and assuring the family of the government’s full support and assistance during this challenging period,” said Mr. Sharma.
